Can't believe I'm going to say this in the context of gaming, but.... For once - wrong person to ask. I missed it the first time round and never actually got around to playing it. I've always meant to play it through but always got distracted. As far as I know - it's exactly the same, just with tidied visuals and better lighting effects.

It could be 'Morse', rather than mouse - check for a DVD in the laptop. Maybe it's a media studies laptop and they're having issues getting the Inspector Morse box set to play.

Usually free (for close friends or family) - as long as it's a minor job, however with one important caveat. If I feel I'm being taken advantage of, such as one friend who continually knackered his PC up despite being told to stop trying things without proper research - I'll charge. Less than going rate, but still enough to make them realise they shouldn't be mucking around with things they don't understand. (In the case of my friend I labelled it 'Idiot tax', which he admitted was an apt term).

It's on a case-by-case basis. IF the source code has been released to the public under a free license (such as Phantasy Star Online), or the owner of the copyright grants permission - then it's fine. However - even if a game is not released, the creators still hold the copyright. Enforcing it'd be difficult - much in the same way as recording your favourite songs off the radio when you were a kid was technically illegal, but it's illegal (or at least in breach of copyright) all the same.
