Oh god no - not EA... That's the death of Mario Kart, Monster Hunter et. al. "You either die a THQ, or live long enough to become EA" -
I'm public transport only I'm afraid (with my usual club in walking distance). Let me have a think though - I may be able to sort something (Plus - I've got to dig the kit out as I've moved house since I've played)
-
I still have quite a sizeable Draconis Combine force (about a company), and a few Stars of Clan 'mechs - I must dig them out sometime and get another game in. If anyone is in the Derby area, I may be able to arrange something (although I haven't played it myself for a while!)

Out of curiosity - are there any other Battletech players here?

I know it's an unused topology now, but this should be a To(l)k(i)en Ring network.

Glad to know I'm not the only one who thought "OO-errr"

Damnit - I was too late to jump in with "Lady BaaBaa"

Thing is - protest votes (certainly under the current status quo) don't work. It's like not being able to decide whether to have Coca Cola or Pepsi, and instead choosing to drink your own urine.

I thought the National Bird was Ed the Duck

He's the man - so he's got the vote.

Who'd be Big Boss? Is there curry on the menu?

Isn't that Lycos - which was a non-starter anyway?

For your main weapon - I'd recommend Electric, while the motors can go, in general they have much fewer issues than gas. Also - AEGs will fire at a more consistent 'power', whereas with gas the temperature can mean everything. A cold day can mean you'd be better spitting the BBs, while a warm day can mean your weapon is firing a little *ahem* hot. I've got three AEGs - two Classic Army (an M15A4 Carbine and an M4CQB Compact SEALs), and the build quality is excellent, they did cost quite a bit though. I also have a cheaper Chinese M14, and while it didn't cost much - parts have broken and the polarity was wrong on the connector from the start. As for sidearms - I prefer gas. The blowback is satisfying and there's not too much difference between plastic and metal for those (aside from metal slides using more gas). I've owned an Electric USP and it just felt 'meh' in comparison to my various GBBs (a mix of metal ones and plastic) Snipers? Lots of choice there. There's some VERY nice gas kit out there, but I've always found spring bolt action to do the job. I have a cheap Chinese M24 and it's brilliant. As you'll have to qualify for UKARA before you're allowed to buy any kit - you'll need to go a few times first. See what others are using, ask about them and see if you can have a play. Most airsofters I know are very happy to show off kit and let people have a play, that way you can decide what's right for you, as the sport can be very costly.

I have a very particular set of pastimes, pastimes I have acquired over a very long career... For me? Gaming: Been a gamer since pre-consoles, and I don't see that changing. Tabletop Roleplay: D&D, Rolemaster, Dredd, GURPS, Pathfinder. Wargames: Started on Workshop (like many), but branched out to various systems and members of our group have even published rulesets (Manoeuvre-Group). Dice God: See the two above, I can often ask the dice for a result and they will oblige - annoying other players. Airsoft: Haven't been for a while due to house and garden sorting, but I should be back out there soon. Motorbike Racing: That is watching it, even to the point of having an inter-family dream team competition.

No need to panic, just send him the school's bank details and await the deposit of your new fortune. I'm not so sure - it's missing the safest of all legal assurances: "Honest, Guv"
