The battery life on these laptops are shockingly bad! 2 Hours max even when just browsing a webpage. I`ve been thinking about getting some replacement batteries, has anyone got this model? The batteries are built in, but don't look to hard to change. Cheers

Not really. I`m (hopefully) going abroad on holiday on Thursday and I hope I come back with a bit more motivation!

We have had it for a month or two now, like previously mentioned, its not really had much impact as there`s hundred of existing chat that the pupils are in and they just add new pupils to those. It would be great if it worked for existing chats. Cant see it ever happening though!

In the same boat!. We currently don`t have anything in place to support these that go home. Do you know if schools are legally bound to protect these?

I guess the first thing to determine is if we are Legally obliged to do this, if no then the school can then decide themselves what they would like to do, if we are legally obliged then I think the Dfe should at the very least offer a solution to this e.g suggesting suitable software..

The only option I can think of is to add these to our MDM which (I think) can filter web addresses, but not Categories. This though would be a huge task to maintain a list of websites to filter. I agree with @DaveAshworth - Lockdowns are now over and need to decide if these devices are to be given to students to keep or return.

Over 200 out currently, we use Sophos XG internally - I know you can filter using an MDM - Currently using Lightspeed.

We received a number of the Dfe Restricted laptops over the Lockdowns, the filtering support for these is due to expire at the end of September, we currently don`t have anything in place for filtering of devices loaned out to pupils, what`s everyone doing for this to maintain Safeguarding? Regards

SLT want to convert all hard copies of student information (100s of pupils going back several years) to an electronic version to store on the network - Besides this being a huge job, the question is where to store these once they're converted. The ideal place would be to link these to each pupils MIS profile. Has anyone done this? My first worry would be the load on our MIS Server (Sims) with all this additional data.

Hi, I`m looking at securing our RD Web Remote Access the best we can, were using RD Web access on a Windows 2021 R2 VM, from previous posts, setting up MFA is a must (which we haven't yet implemented!), is there any other I need to consider?. Thanks

I`m trying to map our Copiers through GPO like we do for our printers, printers map fine but none of the copiers seem to automatically map. Leaving us to manually add these for staff. Anyone else had problems mapping these? Is there something I`m missing?! Thanks

Sorry to hijack this thread but has anyone found the keyboards on these devices to be a bit flimsy?! We`ve had keys randomly fall off, without any student help! Also, quotes for a new keyboard are £130 currently!! Anyone found any cheaper?

Having another look at this after a few issues with Teams call quality - I see both Radios are set to "Auto" - Would you set the 5ghz on to "High" and leave the 2.4ghz on Auto? Have you done this for all your APs? Thanks
