I got it to work! I had put the default vlan IP as the default gateway for the CCTV camera. When I changed it to ip of the CCTV vlan it worked (In the core switch) now I need to get it to work on inter connecting edge switches. Having looked into this it looks like I need to use port trunking, is that right?

At the moment I have a flat network but we have recently installed a large amount of CCTV cameras and I have just been asked to install more! So I want to create a VLAN and put all the CCTV cameras on that VLAN and leave the DVR on the default VLAN. I want to do this partly for security to keep the cameras separate and partly to have a go at setting up a VLAN. I have a HP 5406zl core switch. At the moment I have created the CCTV VLAN and given it an IP address, turned on routing, changed the default gateway on the devices to the core switch, added an IP route to our ISP gateway so we can get on the internet. I can ping the CCTV VLAN address from the default VLAN but cant ping a device on that on that vlan. I have connected one of the CCTV cameras directly to the core switch to try to rule out any issues I may get if it was connected to a inter connecting switch. Is there anything I am missing? On one forum it said that you needed to add any local IP's to your ISP default gateway. Would that be something I needed to do? or should it work without doing that? We are on the LGFL so I can make a request to add it if needed

The head teacher asked me to reply and say we are interested Although I have my reservations as well. The email was very vague, if the company is going into liquidation then I would have thought any assets like parts and source code would need to be sold off to claim back any debt (Rather than nabbed by an ex-employee). Unless the ex-employee is looking to purchase them theirself Also if we hand over money for the IOS app to be developed which then gets released onto the app store any school can download it whether they paid towards it's development or not. We would be better off letting everyone else pay for the development and then download the app once its available Unless we have firm guarantees and a strong contract I'm going to suggest not going down this route

Yes, most websites either load really slowly or not at all

We got charged for them to install it but while the guy was doing it I took a copy of the install file. Now if we need to have the client installed on another computer or re-installed I run the install file then copy the contents of the C:\Program Files (x86)\SG World Ltd\Vis-IT Ed from a working computer to the new one and it works

Never mind, I managed to find it under: Office Shared Features > Proofing tools > English Proofing Tools > Hyphenation

We have some students doing ECDL and one part of it asks them to use auto hyphenation. When they go to: Page Layout > Hyphenation Then select Automatic, they get an error: "Word hyphenation feature is not available. Run the Microsoft Office Setup program, install this feature and then try again" I have run the office customization tool and cant find anywhere that mentions turning on or off hyphenation Does anyone now where the setting is? and how to change it? We are using Office 2013

I heard about this happening to someone else and it turned out that the person had ordered one of the wristband barcodes but miss typed their runner number which turned out to be someone else's Hopefully that hasn't happened in this case and its just that the runner number was entered manually as a one off incorrectly

Annoyingly I have been roped in to help invigilate some of the tests so I saw it happen first hand. Although if I hadnt been there, like you I don't think I would have been told about it

We had problems with it yesterday although I think we had a different error page. I kept getting random students getting the page then at about 12:30 they all got the error at the same time (15 Students). They all managed to get back on and continue with their exam but its really disruptive when it happens

We have an annoying on going Outlook issue We had this problem with Outlook 2010 and again with Outlook 2013. We have our own on site exchange 2010 server that outlook is connecting to Users login open outlook and get the setup window appear. They press next, next, next finish with all the required settings getting pre populated and their outlook opens fine and everything works Then if they login to a different computer they get the following error: Your Outlook file cannot be configured C:\users\%username%\AppData\Local\Outlook\%emailaddress%.ost When I check that location there is indeed no file. I can manually create it and then if they re open outlook it works. The only other thing to do is reset their profile and they have to do the setup again I found a Microsoft tech page that describes the issue but the fix doesn't fix the problem: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3072598 Staff that have to cover a class that is in a different classroom to their own are getting a little miffed that when they go to another room they are unable to use outlook because of the issue If anyone has any ideas on how to solve this I will be extremely grateful

I made sure I was well away from anyone and didn't fly it over or near anyone The school is currently having the flat roofs replaced, when that's finished I'm going to try to get a good aerial shot of the whole school

Try going to the All Packages list then sort it by Creation Date It could be that the package is there but under a different name

I have found that I can only use original lighting cables with my IPhone 5c. I have tried the pound shop versions a few times but always get a message appear saying: "This cable or accessory is not certified and may not work reliably with this iphone" and the phone wont charge I wonder if this Lidl ones will be any better

Is anyone else using the online Collins Connect software with the sims sync? The sims sync is meant to export a list of teachers, students and teaching groups then upload them to the collins connect site. It managed it export ALL teaching staff. Not just current staff but all staff that have ever worked at the school and have been in sims. It also hasn't exported any of the teaching groups We also had an issue where a teacher had the wrong e-mail address in sims so that was changed, the next day instead of editing the account on the collins connect site it created a new account I have been in contact with their technical support and they have tried blaming our sims data for being wrong so they asked me to run a few reports and everything was correct. This has been going on for a few weeks now and I don't seem to be getting anywhere Is anyone else having the same problems? or have it working fine?

Is there anyone using a bitwise controller that could give me some help/advice We had a projector system installed with a bitwise controller (website) connected to it so that it turns the projectors on and off at a set time Does anyone know how I can re program it to change the timings? If it helps we have a BC1 controller
