I have Nagios setup and monitoring a number of things including our Konica Minolta photocopiers I monitor the toner levels and the Waste toner box. The toners are easy, I have them setup that if less than 10% Warn and if less than 1% Critical With the Waste toner box the SNMP response is -3 is fine, 2 is almost full and 1 is empty. Nagios seems to work in positives, so if I set 2 as warn and 1 as critical its being reported as critical because normal is -3 so less than 1 The check command I am using is: $USER1$/check_snmp -H $HOSTADDRESS$ -o1.3.6.1.2.1.43.11.1.1.9.1.13 -w2: -c1: How do I set this up so that -3 is OK, 2 is warn and 1 is critical?

We currently use FMS and have just had a demo of SIMS Finance Are there any other cloud based finance packages that other schools use that we should take a look at? Thanks

My SSM packages updated yesterday and I asked staff to update their Sims Teacher App Now the Sims Teacher App no longer works When I try to login to the admin page I get the following error: An error has occurred and it has been logged. If the problem persists please contact your Capita SIMS support team. When the staff try to login with the app they get: Teacher App Services are offline I have double checked we are up to date and the services are running I have a support call with Capita currently open

I have a GPO which I can apply to user accounts which disables the Internet so that no matter where the user logs in the internet is disabled I need something similar but I need to apply it to a computer so that no matter who logs into the computer the internet is disabled. What is the best way of doing this?

We are on RM CC4.3 and are using Cubase Elements 9 1. We had the 'Basic and High Contrast Themes' with windows 7 but since upgrading the computers to Windows 10 we haven't had it. Although we do use RM Tutor and have found that if the teacher has this open and connects to a computer you can't open Cubase. So at the moment if the teachers class is using Cubase he doesn't use RM tutor which brings other issues 2. We have the same issue and have had it with every version of Cubase we have ever used. I assume its an access issue, I think the software is trying to write something to somewhere and because it can't it stops but must have a timeout period. If I use Cubase with an admin account it doesn't happen We do get alot of issues with the elicense software. We install it and add the license but it seems to drop off alot, most of the time updating the elicense software resolves the issue but when you have to do this 30 times manually its time consuming and disruptive to the teacher

We had an issue with a parent that showed as already being registered but they said they hadn't setup their account I tried to unregister the parent so I could send out a new invitation. They appeared in the unregsiter users list but never actually left the list no matter how many times I tried to unregister them After a bit of back and forth with Capita the support person asked if the parent was using any other capita product. When I asked them the parent had a younger sibling at a primary school using Sims Agora Capita support said because the parent was using the same email for sims parent with us and Sims Agora at the other school I wouldn't be able to unregister the parent because it would unregister them with both accounts It was suggested that the parent us a different email account with us which is what we ended up having to do. They used their work email which isn't ideal

Thank you for all your replies, there are alot more solutions than I thought there would be! I got a quote for Netsupport school a while ago which I have found out also does this I have to write a report about what we can currently provide for him and any costings for additional software. So I will base the costing on the netsupport quote but may revisit this if he does join us and try a few different solutions mentioned to work out what's best for him and the staff

My main worry with using VNC is staff not turning it off when they aren't using it. He could then potentially connect to their computer when not in their room

No, I haven't spoken to the school. This is only a potential student that may join us. I don't really want to talk to the school about it just in case they tell his parents we have been asking questions. Having spoken to the SENCO it sounds like we may struggle to provide all the support he needs and he may be better off joining a school that could give him more support. I have just been asked to look into a potential solution incase he does come here The IPad will be owned by the school but he will be the only user.

I have been told that we will potentially getting a student next year that has some issues with his vision. We have been told that he uses an IPad which helps alot with this. Apparently at his current school the teacher uses a piece of software which allows them to show their desktop onto his IPad, he finds it easier to see rather than looking at the IWB He is in primary school at the moment so it will most likely be just one computer he is connecting to. When he comes to secondary school he could go to any classroom so I would need to install the software on all teacher computers 1) what software could I use to do this? 2) What is the best way of making this as easy as possible for staff to use?

I'm looking into Sims hosted The only thing I'm not sure on is how our current connectors would connect to sims to get the data For example we have groupcall Xporter, 4Matrix, Wonde, parentpay MIS Sync and a few others What would I need to do to get these to work?

We are using the Sims Parent App Under conduct is says that under Behaviour it can/will show details for behaviour and achievement incidents that are logged within sims. It has a section saying that it will show who actioned the behaviour, also similarly for achievements it will/can show who awarded the achievement When logging a behaviour or achievement incident within sims I have found the sections for actioned by and awarded by. Is there anyway we can get these fields to auto populate? There are other fields that do auto populate like Recorded by/date/location but not the ones needed to show information within the parent app. We have asked staff to add the details to the actioned by and awarded by fields manually but they are complaining that it is taking to long

I will be interested to hear if anyone has a solution to this Our canteen staff have complained that they can't hear their phone ringing in their office The only solution I have come up with is to move the phone into the food preparation area. The issue now is that they can hear it ringing but can't always hear the person speaking because the machinery they are using to so load

We signed up for something called No More Marking POP tests which required a program to be installed on the Sims Server called the Assembly Connector While the Assembly Connector service is on and running it seems to take control of some of the files within the C:\Program Files\Sims\Sims.net folder and wasnt allowing sims to update properly. When I opened sims I got a similar error to the one you have shown So I had to stop the assembly service. Delete the C:\Program Files\Sims\Sims.net folder. Then reinstall sims made sure it worked then started the Assembly Connector again

How do we get Sims Options Online? We have done the onboarding process and have the sims parent app. So as far as I know we are ready for it I have sent emails to [email protected] and [email protected] asking for it to be added or asking how we go about getting it added but havent had a response Is there something I need to do? or someone I need to contact?

I am looking to run a report that will tell me if there are any missing marks for a class register and who was the teacher at the time I can run the report under: Reports > Lesson Monitor > Module Reports > Registers with missing marks Which is fine but the teacher listed is the main teacher of the class not necessarily the teacher of the class at that time. When a teacher gets covered in sims the lesson gets transferred to their account and they can take the register but that information doesn't get transferred to this report The lady that has to chase staff up to complete registers keeps getting complaints from staff that had been covered for a lesson but the register wasn't taken. When you then chases that person up they say they were covered so really she needs the report to say who was in charge of the class during that session Hope that make sense

I have just checked and the SIMSDirectory=D:\SIMS\SIMS which is correct for the server but wrong for the workstations. It would need to be SIMSDirectory=S:\Sims I changed it on my computer and it worked Where is the information from the sims.ini coming from? we are using Solus 3 I can manually change it but if I do an upgrade I assume it would change back

On the sims homepage in the top right there is a link called "Documentation". When we click it we get an error message saying "Documentation Index File missing.." Having googled the error, I found out that the file and documents it is looking for live on our sims share ie S:\sims\documentation When I copy the documentation folder to my local C drive ie C:\Program Files\Sims\Sims.net The link works fine. Is there a way that I can get that link to point to S:\sims\documentation? and if so can I easily apply that to all computers with sims installed?

I think the best one I came up with was when a facebook friend had put a picture of a bowl made out of leaves on facebook to show some arts and crafts type thing they had done with their daughters at rainbows. The comment I made was "That looks unbe-leaf-a bowl"

Boom! It's working! The setup I have is: Core (HP 5406ZL) - Edge (HP 1810G) - Cheapo POE Switch (Zyxel GC1200-5HP) I had to mess around with the settings on the POE switch a bit but got there in the end Once I have got this CCTV project out the way I may look at what else I can setup VLANs for. We have a door entry system that is slowly growing, digital signage in a few places and plenty of printers. Now I have done it once I can plan this out for the future Thank you for all your help
