Have you tried updating to the new Chromium Edge? Not sure this will fix anything as Edge is probably heavily embedded in the OS anyway, but it's worth a try as it gives the impression it's overwriting the older version. It could help. Either way, it's worth a try!

You don't need to be in a G Suite environment for Trainer or Innovator. Probably more so Innovator as it's not about G Suite. Innovator is about finding a challenge in education that you want to solve and then you work on a year long project to work on a solution to that challenge. It doesn't need to be related to Google in anyway whatsoever. As for trainer, so long as you are delivering training in G Suite tools, and are level 1 and 2 certified, you can apply for trainer. You can deliver training online via Google Meet, StreamYard, Zoom or even Teams! lol Absolutely go for both. What's the worst that can happen? You don't get in. You learn from it and then apply again!

There are several add-ons for Google Sheets that would do a MailMerge. I'd look at autocrat and Yet Another MailMerge. autocrat is totally free and I've used this to do what I've needed in the past.

Ah, looks like I was wrong on the SuperHub not allowing disabling of WiFi

I'll probably need a router, not an AP as the SuperHub doesn't allow you to disable WiFi, unless you put it into modem mode. As the device is going to be right next to the SuperHub, I don't want the wireless signals clashing. I'm only thinking about it because in my experience, the Virgin Media SuperHub 3.0 doesn't normally cover the whole household.

I was given a free Meraki MR33 access point for attending one of their webinars, which came with a free 3 year license. I've been using it at home with my Virgin Media SuperHub for a while now, however, my free license is coming to an end and I will not be renewing it. I've also been told by my landlord that he'll be selling my 2 bedroom flat and that I'll need to move. Because of my family size, I'll be moving to a 3 bedroom terraced house. So, I'll need a new router, ideally with mesh options to get full household coverage. Could someone please recommend a decent enough mesh router with mesh APs that isn't over £200 as I really don't have the money to spend on a fancy Asus setup or Google Nest WiFi.

We have the Lenovo 300e across our entire fleet of Chromebooks, barring 2 trolleys which is the previous model, the N23 Yoga. We brought most of these devices under the previous LGfL offers at £189 per device. So, ~£165 per device is a very good offer indeed! These are a pretty robust device for student usage. I wouldn't recommend them for staff, although we do use them for meetings. However, they are perfectly fine, capable and robust enough to use with students. These also come with a very reasonable Chrome Auto Update policy end date of June 2025/2026 depending on the model.

That's absolutely not the intention, although I can see where you're coming from. Google Educator Groups are 100% volunteer non funded grass roots community groups that serve the purpose to help inspire educators around the world to get started with Google for Education to help bring great digital experiences for their children. Many of the people watching this boot camp won't ever pay for a training session of the sort and so we are trying to capture an audience that would otherwise be lost or left aside. Ultimately, there will be some cross over between what PD partners do and what GEGs do, but in creating these communities, Google are well aware of that.

I know that it is possible to migrate from StaffMail to G Suite (I'm presuming Office 365) too. You will need to raise a call with AdEPT Education and there is a fee of about £450 plus £1.50 (or £2 per) mailbox. In terms of keeping their existing email address, they can keep whatever address they have if it your own domain. However, if they are using the [uso]@lgflmail.org then they will need to set up automatic forwarders on StaffMail to Office 365, which is easy to do, but will probably need to be done per user.

Slight problem! Is there anyway I can run memtest86 without a USB drive? As it's a 16" MacBook Pro, I only have USB-C ports and didn't particularly want to buy a USB-C drive or converter just for this. If needs must, I will, but just wondered if there way a way...

Can anyone please recommend a doorbell that: 1. Doesn't require wired power 2. Will display live video to a Google Nest Hub 3. Is able to use Google Nest Hub & Google Home Mini as a doorbell chime I'd love to get the Nest Hello, but I can't wire it in to my rented flat. I'd go for Ring, but it doesn't support live video showing on the Google Nest Hub.

At my Trust we require all governors to use school emails (G Suite). However, the school that I am a parent governor at chooses to use personal emails (which I totally disagree with!) They do now use Governor Hub for storing of documents, but these still get shared around on personal emails, which is definitely not good practice.

Yes, I tried that and it told me it couldn't find any issues. Ironically, right after I restarted and it booted back into macOS, it gave me the kernal panic error! macOS is fully updated.

I have a new MacBook Pro 16". A few weeks ago, I noticed that it had switched itself off, when I opened the lid, it went through the whole boot sequence. When it finally booted up, it told me the MacBook had restarted due to an error. It's not started more and more often. It only happens when I shut the lid and put the device on charge. Not every time, but every few days. This has never been the case. You've always been allowed to join a Meet without an account of any sort. You simply type your name and then wait for someone to allow you to join. The meeting host will get a message saying that [Name] (unverified) is trying to join the meeting. I just tried it now for verification. In the recent update from last month, only the host can now allow people into a Google Meet, making it much safer as only the host has control to the meeting.
