When you have both vanilla and CC4 up to the spec you want they can equally run as well as each other but with CC4 its crazy costs! I m sure RM are trying to price themselves out, 6-8 years ago a RM school wouldnt dream of moving away from RM now I think the cost is driving people away

Sadly thats never going to happen because of the 'laptops4teachers' scheme it is now 'impossible to teach' without them, yay government schemes!

Kinda of the same but I get machines that I know will last best example (Though laptops) before I was here they brought £300 HP laptops that lasted less that 2.5 years! brought some at £400 and they will definitely last 4-5 years easy. Its all about making the right choice as I thought about the purchase for many months.

If we had longer to negotiate with the LA things could ve been different but we were told a cut off date to make a decision so we had to look else where

I agree that there was no 'price hike' because of the grants but we moved away from LA because it was 2k cheaper and a vastly faster Internet connection witht his I forget about Internet issues now and no staff complain as we have none!. The problem for us and other schools were the arrogance that we had no other options plus we had roughly a montht o consider other options and lastly the price kept changing everyday, if the LA gave the last price they offered first we would have prob stayed with the LA.

Out of interest have you got anything custom on it? unless you have DPM I would just backup the sql as quite easy to restore with just the SQL

In last few months I ve found that at random times in the day Outlook 2007 stops receiving mail then randomly hours later bulk comes to outlook. I thought it was the wireless and staff moving around but this has happened on a staff PC, any thoughts?
