Azure AD - Sharepoint Testing Questions/Issues Thread
cheekycharly replied to cheekycharly's topic in Cloud Services
I did drop softcat a message on their online form but heard nothing back from them in over 3weeks now. Strange. UPDATE: Think I am going the wrong way around this... Do I just need to go to https://appsource.microsoft.com/ Find softcat in there and reach out to them from that?- 34 replies

DfE Connecting the Classroom project funding

DfE Connecting the Classroom project funding
cheekycharly replied to password1234's topic in Wireless Networks
Does this DFE initiative still exist? -
Fair play that as your reseller isn't taking much on that as retail Adobe comes to £633.60 when purchased direct. Keep me posted.

I guess that's Ex VAT ?

Anyone here using the Adobe Classroom licensing and know how it works with Azure logons? I take it you install Adobe CC on the selected laptops and pupils login using their Azure logon. I figure from being logged on you can then login to Adobe CC using an email as long as they are assigned a license.

Just as an update to this I bombed Idrive off as the software was garbage and reached out to Axcient who over a period of a month still could not organize a sales call. Now im on trial with PeaSoup who have been fantastic so far.

4G Unlimited data Business Use
cheekycharly replied to cheekycharly's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Yeh, this is what I looked at but it does say in the small print that it is not for business use. Where the sim will be used for a couple of months there is only 2 pupils max ever onsite and two teachers with very little data usage so might get away with using as "Residential" during the time I need it. -
4G Unlimited data Business Use
cheekycharly replied to cheekycharly's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
On the filtering talk does your system have the ability to work on a Cloud 365 setup i.e. no server to group policy push out an agent and associate it with a relevant group i.e. Student/Teacher. We are with BT Lancs but will be looking to get quotes to replace this if they cannot get us a better connection and cloud based filter that does not rely on on-premise servers. -
Does anyone have any good recommendations for a 4G sim provider that does unlimited or very high usage allowance? We have a small building that has a separate broadband line that I am wanting to cancel and move over to another provider. I have a Draytek 2862Lac and want to use its 4G capability as a stop gap which could be 1day or 1month. Any suggestions welcomed. Thanks, CC

RM Filtering only
cheekycharly replied to Shattell894's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
Am i missing something as their website states... Transparent filtering – all connected devices are automatically filtered, no need to set a proxy -
Hi guys we are currently rocking the standard A1 for students license and I am thinking of buying an additional domain and adding it in. When I go to "Buy a Domain" direct on the 365 page it says... Buy domain Before you can buy a domain, you'll need to upgrade your trial. You can then connect new domains to the services included in your subscription. Upgrade your plan Is this because the account has no card details registered against it? I know if I go to Add domain and type it in manually as if I bought it from GoDaddy Etc it seems to get to the next step and wants the verification. Just wondered if any of you have multiple domain names and if this is normal.

Could you not have used Senso for the cloud filtering? Looking at their website it says they now do cloud based content filtering.

Last Wednesday? That's mental! I hadn't even thought about Christmas at that point. Still plan on doing my shopping Christmas Eve

Anyone else buy their Adobe licensing direct from Adobe like Steve21 mentioned?

Hey guys just seeing if you all break up today? and what is the usual thing that happens on the last day? Do you get to skip off early and leave the kids to fend for themselves or do you see the day out and all cheer upon exit.

Azure AD - Sharepoint Testing Questions/Issues Thread
cheekycharly replied to cheekycharly's topic in Cloud Services
Hey IT_JB who was your reseller? (did you mention already?). If it is someone local to you no worries but if its someone reputable and mainstream then please could you share with me. I have been on the following website and I can get a 90day trial of this which I think upgrades Azure and includes the Intune for MDM. https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/microsoft-365/enterprise-mobility-security/compare-plans-and-pricing Looking at taking the trial out once we return from the Christmas holidays.- 34 replies

Like you say Steve reading that its £528 for 25seats on the "Classroom License" working out way cheaper than what they are paying. Wonder if this license allows you to install on the device as Admin and then it just works for all logons. I noticed some require Azure and the ability to link with AD.

I mentioned that to the Art and Photography department that we could get that Express version free but they were adamant that it was crap and not as intuitive as you would think. Haven't tried it myself and I haven't done Photoshop since about 2002 after attending some night school courses on it when I thought it would be cool to be a graphic designer . Oh how life changed.

Nice one Steve I will have a butchers now at the Adobe page. Would be easier direct than from a reseller.

Some people have tried photopea and while it is very good the kids/teachers go back to Photoshop every time. I personally love it as its free as a bird. Even had them try GIMP for a while but found kids just started calling each other gimps and taking the shine off the lesson
