  1. The kids cannot touch anything in mine but I have set the basic EDU policies and then added a whole bunch of other policies to stop access to things. For basic education policies. https://intuneeducation.portal.azure.com/ Use this for all tweaking and nitty gritty bits. https://endpoint.microsoft.com/ I haven't logged into the education azure portal since the beginning.
  2. It will be because you are switching user that has a different set of policies applied and intune hasn't completed a sync at that point. Push out the install of company port then you can always open that and force a resync.
  3. Wish I could follow suite. Once this current DC is done with I wont be firing up a box just to share printers from as i'm wanting fully serverless. If i come in one morning and something is down its either Broadband, Switches, Firewall, O365. Nice and simple.
  4. Just found this thread and thought I'd give it a go but hit an error during install. CND0183LX4 [email protected] Windows 10.0.22631.3085 1.3 Failed 0x80070001 01/02/2024, 11:27:29 Trying to push out one of our Kyocera TASKAalfa 4053ci Copiers.
  5. Will be as they add their email on outlook or something similar. It registers that as a device.
  6. Also interested in this as it won't be long before one of them realises they are under the same 365 tennant.
  7. Its something to do with Edge Apps looking at it. Anyone know how to supress it or remove the whole thing by policy from intune?
  8. Anyone familiar with this Edge icon that appears and pops up with messages saying "We can turn this website into an App" which then lets you pin it to the Start/Taskbar. I want it gone via Intune as I don't want kids pinning things everywhere. Call me tight Any ideas would be a help as I don't even know what they call this feature. Thanks
  9. Think this is the bit i was missing... Upgrade Windows 10 Home to Windows 10 Education - Partner Center | Microsoft Learn Looks like i need to get my CSP to request some Microsoft Education Keys for us. That then gives me an upgrade path without using a generic online key.
  10. Cheers Steve, I've ordered 10 of the Home Edition laptops and I will manually try it when they land. W11 Home - W11 Pro (Via Generic Key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T) - Join Entra Domain (School or Work) - W11 Enterprise (Via A3 Licensing)
  11. I'm wondering if a Mod can move this to the licensing thread as I think the question is more suited there.
  12. No EDU Volume license on the test kit. My test laptop was an old Acer that was in this office when I started here and had Windows 10 Home installed. Like I say i just went into settings on it pasted in the default Windows 10 Pro key and rebooted. It then told me it could activate which is what i expected so I went to "Access work or School" and joined the laptop to the Entra Domain and again rebooted. This time I was able to login as one of the 365 users and once logged in a quick check showed the laptop as Windows 10 Enterprise - Activated. I get that it works just not sure how legit it is having Home as the base OS and using the Windows Pro default key as a stepping stone.
  13. What are my options for licensing or re-licensing the Home edition laptops then? We have a home edition laptop here that was a hunk of junk with 32GB EMMC so I used the default key to upgrade that to PRO which worked but obviously says not activated and then joined that laptop to Intune and logged in and it became Enterprise and Activated. So because it works does it still mean its a grey area and isnt going by the rules? Thanks for any advise and support.
  14. Hi folks, I'm just wondering: with our A3 licensing giving us Enterprise Windows 11 access, does that mean we can save money on hardware and buy cheaper but higher-spec "Home OS" laptops and wipe them with Windows 11 Pro using the default key, and they will login via M$ Entra under school access and get Enterprise licenses? Just a thought, as a lot of decent "Pro OS" laptops are £700+, where you can pickup some decent i5 16GB 512GB SSD Home OS laptops for £400. I hope it makes sense at 11:50 and was a thought that was rattling through my mind while drifting off. Thanks. 😁
  15. Sounds like you need to get a domain first. Depends what you want as the domain name or if your just after a standard .sch.uk. Like these... https://www.schoolhosting.co.uk/school_domain_names/ Personally I just bought a .UK domain and proved we were a school later down the line.
  16. Looks like your after... https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/education/products/office
  17. I think it was this... https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/microsoft-onedrive-blog/unveiling-the-next-generation-of-onedrive/ba-p/3935612 It did sign in and had a totally different interface. Looks like it might be an APP but it wouldn't remove and failed every time. Set the laptop to reset in intine now as well as needed it back up and running. That video shows the interface I was suddenly getting.
  18. Hi folks I noticed one laptop in our Intune Managed system was showing OneDrive New in the programs list. I only found it as I noticed OneDrive Auto-Sign In on startup had stopped working on that machine. Tried to uninstall it but it gives an error straight away. What door have I got open that has allowed this new version of OneDrive to appear alongside the old one (which is now dead and wont fire up) Checked the Office 365 Application installer in intune and its not part of that.
  19. It would upgrade to enterprise?
  20. No agreements in place currently as we just use A3 licensing and buy teacher licenses as and when we need them.
  21. If I buy some cheap Windows Home laptops how much is Windows 11 Pro Licensing per laptop? Just rough estimates. Only looking at half a dozen laptops for one classroom.
  22. Basically the settings IT_JB wrote are correct. My issue turned out to be caused by the imaging package that was being created. Stopped using images and just install base Windows 11 and let In tune do the rest and it worked fine.
  23. Yes, got past this issue and now OneDrive signs in upon login of a student.
  24. Is this still the case nearly 4 years on? As i have the same annoying issue where everything is automated bar Adobe Creative Cloud Application.
  25. Anyone else in here got EERO's standard router and use smart sockets. I know I can temp disable the 5Ghz signal so only 2.4Ghz is running but even when doing that I cannot get smart sockets to find the network. Never had this before the EERO was put in.
