A good exam to start off with for Server 2012 is the 70-410 (https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/learning/exam-70-410.aspx) It is part of the MCSA certification. With this you can do all the studying in your own time and then book a date and place for the exam.

We had/having sometimes, had one user where it would not load then after a couple of retires to open in the preview from email and it just worked without doing anything.

I am using IAMCloud and so far everything working very well with SSO, User provisioning, cloud drive mapping etc.

Is there any way to do an audit to see what is using the administrator account as I am wanting to change our password here (been same for many many years and many people who have left knew it)?

Hello, I am trying to "archive" our leavers mailboxes who left in July. I am right in thinking that with the new change to the plans for Education licences we can use this feature now? If so, I am getting the error "You don't have the correct permissions to place the mailbox "" on In-Place Hold because it's outside the scope of mailboxes you can place on hold. One possible reason is the mailbox doesn't have a license for In-Place Hold. To get permissions, contact your administrator." Even though the mailboxes are licenced with "Office 365 for faculty or Students". Anyone have any advice on this?

Hi all, I have a HP Proliant dl360 g5 I use at home to test stuff on my own dev network. I have been using vSphere but wanting to change to Hyper-V/server 2012 for the host. I am running into a problem at the moment with installing and getting this error "Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk. Ensure that the disk's controller is enabled in the computers BIOS menu". It is enabled and boots fine with VMWare, but just Hyper-V being picky. I have googled it and found out it relating to the "AHCI" support, but when trying to enable from BIOS I dont have this option to enable. Does anyone know if this hardware supports Hyper-V install and if so, would it be a BIOS or another update needing? Thanks.

For their mailboxes we bring them back in locally on our old Exchange server which is only being used for archiving now, but give them access to their OneDrive until September (if left in July) to copy files off and then when we do the new user accounts their OneDrives will be un-licenced so will have 30 day grace period before permanently gone. Would be very interested if there a bulk way of downloading a copy of the leavers OneDrives for Archiving purposes.

Yeah, it happens a lot. Our SLT got fed up so I setup a approval so anyone who sends to the all staff email group their email had to get approved first It's cut down on the stupid stuff a lot. Mainly recently with Office 365 stupid. Reply all change.

If you can't delete the folder by click on it, try doing via Command Prompt or PowerShell, they saved me a few times when I've had similar issues.

Part of iOS 9 release was that Apple-ID is no longer needed for pushing/installing apps to managed/supervised devices, but unable to get this to work in Meraki.

Anyone come across this before? It is affecting the entire local storage we have (shared areas, user areas etc). Only good thing is that it's not affecting me (prob as I am part of domain admins group)

The user is the Owner of their Files/Folders within their area. Who also has Full Control of that file/folder

Hello, We have been having some issues and the latest one so far is that all users when opening any Office file (word etc.) it is showing as read only and telling them they have to save before. On the file from the server, the user has full write/read access and the Attributes for that file is not read only. Anyone know how to resolve this? - I have tried at the users root folder, but no joy There is also another problem which I think it related. Users can read their files now, but cannot edit and when going to save it says "Access Denied" or "You dont have permission" even though they do. I have tried re-updating the permissions for that user to their area, but no joy again. The share and folder permissions are the same and say they have full control over their Home Folder area, but really they don't. Been a long day and starting to hate Windows File Storage. Any help with this? Thanks

Thanks, got it working. Didn't assign the classSet iPads an Owner. We done the same with the master email address and just had aliases from that. Do you know how it possible to do without an Apple ID on the device now that iOS 9 supports it without an Apple ID required when in supervised mode?

Checked and user has read and modify access. When they are saving sometimes it it creating a .tmp file like "88DF865.tmp" even though the file is named something different. EDIT: On the FIle permissions/Folder they have permission for Modify and Read etc. but when Saving it comes up with "There has been a network or file permission error. The network connection maybe lost." The network side is working as can get on other areas/internet etc. without any issues.

Hi All, Currently have a slightly big problem that is starting to grow. Whenever a user is trying to save now it saves, but the file instantly goes to 0KB and when trying to open that file again this pops up. It is happening to different areas (Finance Area and User Areas) with Excel and Word currently reported. Anyone know how to solve this? - I restored from a backup a affected Excel file and so far it seems to be ok.

I've tried that, but unfortunately it does not install the apps silently and all our devices have their own Apple ID and are part of our DEP programme.

Hi all, We have 70 class set ipads and they are becoming a nightmare with installing apps onto them. This used to work before iOS 8 and broke and still not working. We are on the free version of Meraki (under 100 devices) and when trying to deploy apps via VPP (used to be silent) and Managed apps the end user still has to install which we don't want as of these class set iPads. Anyone know a way we can install apps silently with the current version of Meraki (we are on iOS 9 now)? Many Thanks

Just added it, saw the button straight after I posted. Added the option 060 into the predefined on the other server and got it setup for the failover. Thank you very much for your help and your offer

Thanks, Had a look and none are available for delete and the only one I can see that is different is 060 PXE Client which is showing as defined on the primary, but no option to add on the other servers options.

In the main server options under IPv4 there is nothing configured (just taken over the network and trying to straighten things out.) but under the scope options everything is configured there under that scope options, tried to create a scope on the partner server and filled out all the scope options, but when trying to replicate it won't work as it says already scope there (probably doing it wrong, so deleted it and tried again but same message.
