I loved the krypton factor i thought the flight simulator at night was the hardest bit! and possibly the most fun. the aerial slide looked fun aswell but the flight sim did it for me! Kris

i've just installed spice works, and find it extremely good V. impressed. easy to install, takes a while to do the full audit but it works wonders! i would definately reccomend it and plus its free! Kris.

what is the error message your getting? i had this last week and it was getting on my nerves but it was me being thick and not unticking the read only box on configure ftp when you right click your isa firewall rules! it annoyed me for a full day! in between everything else! Kris

in my opinion we have mainly brothers throughout the school and i've never had a problem with them! infact i prefer them to the hp's we have which have a tendency to lockup and do what they want! i really can't fault the brother printers good price consumables etc... we've had 2 now for around 4 years in our it suite's and they get absolutely hammered but they are still going strong! drivers are easy to install. so my vote is for brother!

CROP DUSTING - Surreptitiously farting while passing thru a cube farm, then enjoying the sounds of dismay and disgust; leads to PRAIRIE DOGGING..... now thats a good one!

@paul: its no problem just let me know when your thinking of coming accross and we can sort it out from there!

hi paul, We've got a securus box set up accross the field if you want to pop over and have a look you can do! works well there is a client that goes on the pc's but it is really small and in msi format already so its easy to push out! @stewartknight we've caught a few cases of bullying and that but nothing as exciting as that! Kris

We use azzurri communications for all our leasing seem really good for it as well. really good prices aswell! Kris.

my wage is £15825 i've been and asked and i'm at the top of scale 3 according to that spreadsheet. so really someone with an mcse or mcp would really be wanting more than that i would imagine. i don't have those qualifications and i don't feel that i get paid enough as it is!

oh right that shows how little i do know about my pay. or could it be your sheet thats wrong?

i've not got a clue what scale i'm on but i do know i'm at the top of whatever scale i'm on at £15858 ish a year so could that be scale 3???

2003 server r2 does this for me, and works very well infact! apart from theat you can't set default printers with it but i got around that problem. Kris

thanks forr the quick replies, sysman_mk do you mean by changing the settings in the printer driver to draft or economy etc... i think i'm gonna have to purchase something like print manager i think we could save a bit of money in the long run! cheers

I've now been given the task of looking after the full school printing budget and i would like to know how you guys sort out print monitoring. do you use printer credits or another system to stop the children just printing whatever they want whenever they want? I really want to start saving money on the printing costs at our school so i was just wondering how everybody else did this? Many thanks Kris

i don't even have my own dedicated pc i do most my work on the servers them selves rather than sit in a classroom! i do have a kubuntu box set up but its not plugged in at the moment as i don't have any room for anything in little office! so you should all find your selves lucky the view out of my window is nice though!

no one has even mentioned the good old SCOOBY DOO that was legendary old school TV. what the people eat or drink when they think of these shows is beyond me completely!!!!

top cat was one of my favourites, also transformers, thundercats, wacky races, catch the pigeon all sorts of catoons really but the best theme tune has gotta go to the poddington peas! now that was a theme tune!!!! Kris

pat sharpe supposedly does dj sets in magaluf! i will be going to see him if he's there this summer just so long as those twins are with him!

you could try the reset to factory settings option in the printer menu itself just to get rid of any little bugs that may be there. i'm sure you can do this on those printers! just print a menu map and it should be in there somewhere. other than that try hp's website for firmware updates for it! Kris

won't westfield be able to get prices on that DB.

say if you work a 9 till 5 with no lunch its leaving you with just about half an hour per machine, if you have half an hour for lunch you only get 28 mins per machine obviously you'll get some where its a five minute job but with other jobs you'll have to diagnose etc.. which is going to take longer than that. this company sounds like the company i used to work for, putting you under very strict timeframes you start to rush things so you get done in time but that doesn't always say you've done the job to the best of your abilities. just remember speed kills goes for alot of things other than driving! this is why education suits me more we have a very relaxed atmosphere here and its great not being put under those sorts of pressures! Kris

Thats the problem the client service appears to be running ica.exe! i really can't get my head around it! i know it'll be something completely obvious but i can't see anything! Cheers Kris

right i'm having a slight issue here whilst trying to set this up on a test machine and one of our servers. seems to set up ok on the server with the management thingy installed etc... italc client service running but it cannot not detect the italc client on another machine that i set up with this as a test. and i really can't figure it out. so if any body has experience of this i would be very grateful if you could lend a hand as its now getting on my nerves! windows 2003 server and windows xp sp2 client Cheers Kris

Sounds nice! i noticed a nice windows package already there for me to play with! don't have the confidence on *nix yet! it may sort the problem i had a couple of months ago with ghost client and the current software we use for classroom monitoring (imperata which is now sanako classroom 100 or something like which seems to run flaky on xp!). be worthwhile giving it a go though! Cheers

iTalc Looks really interesting i'm going to have a play with it tommorrow. @ Ric_ have you had a play with it yet?
