Yeah, I swapped the cartridges arround into another CP3505 printer and got the same errors caused in the original printer so ruled the cartridges out that way. Good luck with the cleaning

Just been reading the handbook and am about to ask a very stupid and probably very obvious question Do you use Trusted or SQL authentication when installing Solus3 and does it really make any difference which you use?

I had 54.15 and it was the yellow cartridge - at the back behind each cartirdge are the sensors (a glass oval and a little black tube either above/below it - can't remember atm), a bit of clean air and a soft headed brush to remove any dust has thankfully removed the errors for the last week (which were occuring daily). Could give that a try first (easier and quicker then dismantling the printer anyway) because I phoned someone up to ask about it and was told it was likely the parts you mentioned that were faulty

Take a look at MyBB - free and has a vBulletin-ish look to it. I've recently setup phpBB and wish I'd used MyBB instead now. Other alternative is the recently launched XenForo.

When I've had this it's normally down to a dodgy cartridge (and I only worked that out after replacing the majoity of other cartridges before it was fixed). If you've another CP1515 arround somewhere, try swapping cartridges over and see if it sorts it.

The odd computer I've had which refuses to get updates I've had great success in tracking down the problem by reinstalling the Windows Update Agent from How to obtain the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer If it says it's already installed, run it with the switch /wuforce and it'll force the install over the top. If it fails for any reason atleast it will give you one (the common one I've had is the Windows Installer being out of date). After it's install, reboot and then run a wuauclt /detectnow and you should be off (has sometimes still taken 20 mins or so to pick up updates properly)

My Android phone works with those settings, providing I've ticked the Require Sign-in box because it needs to authenticate to be able to send the mail. Would assume there is a similar box on the iPhone?

What you might find is that after the servers have been off for a period of time, that the network won't bring it's self back up until it can replicate successfully with another DC - particularly the case with the server that holds the master roles as I found out over the summer. As there were 3 DC's at the time, I don't know whether I hit it unlucky with the replication attempts, but until the other 2 DC's had replicated with the 3rd DC, the network wouldn't initialise it's self. I could have that completely wrong though (but it's what happened to me)

Having recently called HP about the status of a warrenty (whether switch I got was UK stock or not) they told me that the source of the switch didn't matter and that all they neede to do was trace it back. Also the warrenty transfers with the switch regardless of who it transfers too.

Yup, user files are hosted on another server. Server needs to be a tower server at present as it needs to go under the table with the rest of them (until they finally get arround to organising a server room). Never looked at the power supplies in all honesty, that's just what the quote came through with. You have mentioned the other thing I was considering, would this box (altered so it had 2 mirrored SAS drives) do as running Hyper-V and then providing 2 Virtual Terminal Servers, or would that then require another bump up in spec?

Realised about the CAL's, they were the easy bit With regards to number of servers, would I be better off heading down the direction of two single core servers with 8GB of RAM in each rather then the dual processor beasty do you think, or am I going to need to spec two single boxes slightly higher? I'm proposing for next year that we invest in a terminal server in a couple of the smaller IT Rooms and at the random machines dotted arround at the back of classrooms. The main use for these is Microsoft Office and web browsing/research. As I'm fairly clueless about the requirements of Terminal Server I just want to check that roughly what I've been quoted for matches up with the expectations I'm putting upon it based off what I've read hear. The requirement given was for a server which would be able to cope with approx 30 simultaneous users, mainly using Microsoft Office and web browsing/research, but the server must have room for expansion in the future if needed.
