Just in case anybody else has been battling on with this like me, I found out by accident that Solus 3 will now automatically update the renamed computer in the console if you rename it. Took me completely by surprise and it's only because I forgot to uninstall it before renaming the computer that I found out.

Try the "Managing Communications using InTouch" and there's a section in there called "Sending a Pupil/Student Profile Message" Edit: We don't have InTouch so can't verify the process, although I'm sure it's right.

Got it, I restricted anonymous sharing so have allowed Anonymous Full Details in a new policy and have now got it there! Don't know if it's the same as how it works on others, but atleast they've gone off happy for the time being!!

I must have my permissions restricted too much then. When I share by email (or with myself) I get nothing, only an outlook link to access the calendar and to publish the calendar I only have availability only.

Thanks both. I can use the add a second account method for the SLT one, but not the whole school one unfortunately as only a select few can edit that one. How do I get the ICS link @Steve21? Edit: Have suggested the OWA app, but it's one of those things now that they can do it, why can't we....

Hi all I'm struggling with this one, have searched but always come up with an answer it can't be done - I've been shown that it can be done though by someone else but they don't know how. I have a shared calendar which a user wants to be able to view on their iphone. Nothing I can see in options or configurations will let me add a calendar from another mailbox that I can see. I have been shown an iphone from someone else, using Office 365 (I've been told) who has their own calendar and other users calendars all listed on their iphone which have been shared with them. How can this be? Does anyone know the secret that I am missing in order to make this happen (and if you do please would you share it)? thanks

This. Some people will really cringe at this, however I have several old Windows XP laptops which I have with several old portable printers that I use as they require nothing but a word processor. Work gets saved locally and that has worked fine for us. I have the issue with the increasing number that I can no longer provide enough printers, but I have no shortage of old laptops. Local GPO's lock the laptops down sufficiently as there is no need for anyone to do anything else on them.

Yeah, I tried mine this afternoon and it worked too! Have now been authorised and it seems to have all gone ok, only issue now is I can't log in to the VPP with the admin account! Have fired it back off to Apple...

Mine's been escalated up to the "Senior Support Team" who are currently investigating. I've ended up with 2 calls as I got frustrated at the lack of progress the email one was having, so the email one is at the same stage however my phone call on Friday afternoon I ended up with someone connected to my computer looking at the various aspects of the site, taking screenshots and then said he'd be back in touch.

It should work, all you would do is when you add the comment bank to your template you would just add the comment for assessment directly under homework and it should do what you want if I've understood correctly. It's how we tend to handle things (slightly erroneously I think) but we have 3 sections: Comment, Effort, Homework and staff complete all 3 and the template just pops them in the right sections.

No it's not the legacy based one, it's the new one so I can see the DEP ipads, I haven't got VPP set up as I'm still struggling with school manager at the moment. Perhaps that's why...

Hi all Can someone let me know where I'm going wrong because I'm stumped. I have enrolled an iPad in DEP, I have linked this up to Meraki and I've assigned a profile to it. So far so good, reset the iPad, DEP pulls down the profile and installs it. Excellent. The ipad is now prompting me for an iTunes account to install the meraki management app. Not good. I thought the whole point about using DEP was that it would install the apps without requiring an iTunes account, but I'm now not sure what step I've missed out to be able to make it work. Can anyone advise as to what I need to do? Thanks

Add a blanking code in for those periods, it will stop Nt6 trying to schedule anything in to those slots that you don't want to timetable into.

I've had exactly the same issue, I was picking VAT registered and entered the VAT number, click continue and nothing happens. Thought it was me/my computer.

Ignoring everything else, you can't move FSMO roles across to a RODC I believe, so it would need to be a fully blown DC in your current domain you created.

Yep, I only remembered recently when I was supposed ot help adapt our Sixth Form profiles and forgot until they were a week before being closed for input. Because of the way our Sixth Form reports work, we tried to create 4 new comment sections to automatically generate grade statements based off Assessment Manager data because if we insert straight from assessment manager it gets all confused and requires 30 mins worth of editting for each profile. We created a dummy comment bank with the 4 sections in with the relevent grade statements in each one, copied the comment section and pasted it into each subject in the live comment bank and then set the Assessment Manager links. Profiles generated without issue. It probably isn't supposed to do that, but I'm glad it does. Every Profiles handbook and document you will read all say no changes to the comment bank after it has been linked to an active session.

I've not tried it with actual statement lines, however we have added new sections into the comment bank by having a dummy comment bank, putting what we want in it and then copying/pasting into the live comment bank. Probably not supported in any way/shape/form but we haven't had any issues (yet)...

As @localzuk says, depends where you are. £20k + the ECC's for the install which would be considerable is what we would be looking at for a 100mb leased line, quoted by 4 companies in the last 6 months.

And yet for us to get a 100mb leased line instead of our RBC connection would cost us in the region of £20k, so if the RBC goes I'm stuffed and we're a secondary school. The last thing I wanted to know from the presentation was with the increase in cost for the OVS-ES agreement and you requiring to licence Office for all your staff to get the Office 365 Pro Plus benefit for Staff/Students, where is the saving coming from moving to the cloud? That's a 19% price increase in my head unless I am missing an obvious trick.

Are you pushing out Discover through Solus3 currently then or are you manually installing? It may be worth downloading the latest ISO and manually installing it on a client and configuring it to see whether it works or not (if you are installing from Solus3 that is).
