I have in the past displayed a directory of pics in an article by putting the directory details in between some tags but I cannot for the life of me remember what they were. EDIT: It's {gallery} {/gallery} but I don't think it's in 1.5! Can someone please remind me what they are? Thanks

Hi All, I have just been informed that we are getting a trolley of 20 laptops that will not be connected to the network. I'm concerned about how I am going to keep the laptops up to date and was thinking of using ghost. As we are a CC3 school I am not using ghost at the moment so I thought I would ask you chaps the following... Can I ghost a laptop from a dvd Can I ghost a laptop from an external HD Can I use an alternative to ghost Cheers

HI, I am toying with edugeek 1.5 (Thanks again for a great thing) If you look at Prenton High School for Girls 1 you will see a menu to the right with the other curriculum subjects on it. But if I add an article then link it it to the same menu on the right it doesn't show that menu on the right Prenton High School for Girls 2 Could someone please put me out of my joomla misery?

Over the summer we are having our lovely () mac suite installed and during this time our head of art will be getting a mac to replace his pc. My main concerns have been ignored by all so I need to find out what he would need minimum to access sims from his machine. Could I use parallels with Sims on that or would I have to go the bootcamp way? Is anybody doing this at present? Thanks

Does this mean in total there are just three of you to support over 1300 workstations? That does seem like a massive number of machines for three staff. That just seems infeasible.

Banning him from all schools does seem a bit harsh for an innocent (ish) jape. I'm sure teachers do much worse things than that and nobody bats an eyelid.

We use Wiki - Free Website - Wetpaint for our ICT wiki. It's free but I'm not sure how someone could upload a picture to it withouit being able to edit it!

Our local filtering box (Freedom 2 Teach) is absolute garbage so I am trying to find an alternative. I have used censornet in the past but it seems to be a paid for service now so I thought I would have a play with smoothwall. My fisrt problem is I am trying to install a VMware image of it on to my local machine but when it install through VMware it has an iprange of 192.168.*.* whereas my network is on a 10.60.*.* range. Now I'm not sure if this matters as VMware seems to create a bridge and I can ping the vmware cards that are installed by vmware but I can't ping the ipaddress of the red and green cards in smoothwall. I won't go on any further as I'm babbleing but am I doing everything correctly? Thanks

Well I can only comment on owning a C3 for 6 months, or rather 2 C3s as my wife bought one at the same time. The build quality inside is very good with the outside looking fine. The panels on a citroen don't seem as sturdy as my old astra but I think this helps with the economy as it is a much lighter car. Plus my astra was knocking on a bit so was probably carved out of one piece of oak. It's fantastic on fuel with me getting over 650 miles on about £50 which seems much better than my old car. I was worried about the citroen reputation but I'm glad I bought it now.

I have to take a stand against lapsafes for a couple of points. The 30 laptop trolley is a nightmare to move around the corridors even when it doesn't have hundreds of excited children running around the corridors, it's just so heavy and unresponsive to steering requests! Also the built in charger might seem like a good idea at the time but if you replace the laptops at a later date you are stuck with the wrong chargers in the trolley, and yes I do speak from bitter experiece. To change tack completely has anyone used asus eee notebooks in a trolley, that would be easy to move around?

The Librarian asked me for my opinion on micro library or any other library software. I didn't have one but wondered if anyone in edugeek land did? Can anyone recommend anything to look at or avoid like the plague? Thanks

I was asked to get a member of the SMT a decent spec laptop with a 17" screen for his dodgy eyes. I found a good spec toshiba for £700 and put the order in BUT the head had a look at the order and questioned me as to why and spending that sort of money on a laptop? What sort of cash do you spend on latops for SMT? Thanks
