Hi All, I have been upgrading our joomla install to 1.6 today. Using the lovely Mootools upgrade tool The problem I am having is that once the tool has run it creates a folder in the root of my webserver and within it are folders that need to be moved to the root. Whenever I try to move the folders I am getting errors of the permission denied kind. Looking at the file sin the folder they have a different owner, all files have owner/group as 99/99 but this folders contents have owner/group as 1099/99 Could this be what is causing the problem. If so Can anyone suggest how I change that setting? Thanks

Ruckus problems with WPAD and PAC files

Did you get any further with this? I am at an earlier stage than you in so much as I don't even know how to push the proxy to the guest client. Could you let me know how you set that up? Thanks -
Strange one this as we use live@edu so I can't tweak our exchange server. When a user composes an email in OWA they occasionally get the error "An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled" like this.. http://www.prentonhigh.wirral.sch.uk/images/external/screenshot.112.jpg Has anyone else seen this before? Thanks

I'd be interested in something like this where the LRB manager could then book the computers at lunch so only the student selected can then use it.

I am currently setting up new staff standalone laptops and have created a shortcut on their desktop that connects to their network share. I put in my log in credentials and then clicked remember these settings. Now every time I log on it remembers my log in BUT I want to disconnect that but don't now know how. HELP!

I am currently going through 19 laptops where I need to change the windows 7 key. I have a batch file I can run to do this but need to edit it each time like so... slmgr.vbs -ipk gvh6k-00000-99999-88888-77777 Is there a way I can get the batch file to ask me to input the key when it is run? I know I need to use % somewhere! Thanks

and another +1 for Ruckus.

You would be best using lists for that. You can create lists in Twitter to divide your usage between ICT/ Comedy/ Celebrity gossip etc.

Glad I found this thread. I'm going to try to get our clients to auto join the domain using fog and will use the advice here. Cheers.

Our Photoshop CS3 disc for windows, that came with adobe creative suite 3, no longer works. I contacted adobe for a replacement and they no longer have the media. I was told that they are quite happy for me to get a copy as the license is the important part. Can anyone help me out here by burning me a copy of theirs and posting it out to my school or making an image and putting it somewhere where I could access it? I'll obviously pay for any postage and discs . If you could help, please message me Cheers

Can I jump on here to ask what people here do use? We currently back up to NAS every night but do not have any off site backups. We were thinking of using a HD caddy and plonking 1TB drives in there to be taken off site. Having no offsite does worry me so have been looking for solutions for a while.

Well, good news. It's horrible when that happens. you get that watery feeling in your stomach and think everyone in the school is looking at you!

We had Ruckus installed last year by CP Ltd who you will find on here somewhere, that's right isn't it Chris . The Ruckus system itself has been excellent with none of the usual problems I have had in the past with wireless. It was suprisingly cheap for what we bought, coverage for the whole school with one controller and 19 access points. It has made a massive difference to what we can achieve in the school. As I said CP installed it and the installers were nice chaps who knew exactly what they were doing.
