We currently create users with a home folder in a folder such as Year7/username$ We then give full permission on the folder and then restrict access through the share. I believe that most people do this the other way with control via security permissions and give full access through the share? Can anybody suggest the best set up for user home folders and security? I ask as I am currently playing around with bulk user creation tools and can't see how i can use any of them with my current set up! thanks

One of the people who lives near our school is complaining as they automatically connect to our guest network at home. Do we have a responsibility to help them? I'm not saying we don't want to talk I just wondered how far we should go to help and what we can say. Our wireless is a ruckus system that has a guest WLAN that has no encryption but needs a log on name and password to use.

Hi Guys, i have installed Home access plus and have it working as I want. It occurred to me that I should probably have it running as a secure website and this is where I get stuck in IIS 7. http://www.prentonhigh.wirral.sch.uk/Externalpics/screenshot.158.jpg I have the Home access running from a sub folder of the default web site directory called Extranet and for some reason I have another sub folder inside that called extranet as well. Anyway I can't add bindings to the sub folder, extranet, only to the default web site folder. Can anyone suggest how I could secure this subfolder? Thanks

That happened to me when My moodle and mahara times were not synched. Not sure how that would relate to your problem? Just a thought really.

Search for mahoodle. There is a great document out there somewhere on integration. I'll pop back later when i get a chance, but google mahoodle. Yes users log in to moodle and clicking on a link on your front page auto logs you in to mahara.

The config tool has really helped me move on with installing Home access plus. I now have it running but could do with some help from somebody with this... The homedrive settings are by default N: pointing to %homedrive% I need to work out what I need to change it to. My users all have their home drive mapped to \\servername\username$ I have tried putting \\servername\%username%$ but this fails I know I'm close because if i put \\servername\myusername$ it works for me (myusername$ refers to my actual logon name with the dollar sign at the end) Can anyone help with this? thanks

Hey Hightower, Firstly thanks for the video guide as I tweaked my sysprep.inf file and it saved me some issues. Can I ask a question about you video part 1? When you have the drivers at 9:34 you have them all in a folder called "D" and a bunch of ini files beginning with driverpack... When I unzip them they don't look like that! Did you have to move them into this structure? Thanks

I am trying to make a master image that i can fog on to all my various XP machines. Not successful so far but I'm giving it a go. I have an image that is fine on one computer, a fujitsu, but if i try to deply it to an eee box it moans about graphics drivers not having passed windows logo testing. It asks if I want to continue installing this. I'm quite happy for it to not install it but I can't figute out what I need to do to the image to stop it asking. Has anyone else had much success trying this? Thanks
