  1. I was just trying to move everything from the right side of my schools site so I only had a column down the left hand side and a nice larger area to the right for articles. However when I hid everything on the riight colum n things went a bit weird. I now have a massive area to the right of my page which is just blank. Now this is a template issue as when I change the template the problem goes away. Prenton High School for Girls Could anyone suggets where in a template this setting may be? Thanks
  2. Ooh, sounds exciting! Let us know what you have managed to install. We are looking at moving to Windows 7 on clients and are having a few issues with fog so would like to find alternative methods.
  3. I am at the final stages of placing a NAS box in a nearby school for our offsite backups but have hit a bit of a legality problem. Well the problem is I have no agreement with school in question and I have been asked to knock one up. Now I'm no lawyer so habve no clue. Does anybody know if there are any generic agreements out there for this sort of thing? Has anybody else done this? thanks
  4. Thanks for the help there Synack, My problem is that we don't have Server 2008 R2 at the moment so are relying on our FOG server to pump out images to our clients. I won't bin /generalize just yet then, I'll keep on looking for ways to keep the drivers.
  5. Hi All, I have been struggling for over a week trying to sysprep a windows 7 machine. Where it seemed so simple on XP it seems a never ending job on 7. I thought I had cracked it as I managed to get a sysprep to run and the machine came back on without any errors BUT the graphics driver disappears. I had a quick read about PersistAllDevices so added that to my answer file, with true, but I had an error when sysprepping then. Can anyone suggest what command would be best when running sysprep so that drivers do not disappear? At the moment i currently run... sysprep.exe /generalize /oobe /shutdown /unattend:c:\windows\system32\sysprep\unattend.xml All I want is an image that will go on 70 netbooks that are all identical, can I get rid of the generalize? Thanks
  6. When a user logs on to a windows 7 machine in my domain they get an icon top left corner of the dektop with their full name from active directory. It seems to point to c:\users\temp. It has links to the users local my pictures etc. which I really don't want. How can I disable this? Thanks
  7. See my post #8 above. You just need to log in to your fog's linux box and edit the /etc/resolv.conf file. Your fog doesn't know how to resolve the host names.
  8. Problems with which bit?
  9. S'alright found it. Needed to update /etc/resolv.conf by putting in 'search domain.local' replacing domain with our actual domain.
  10. Could you let us know what you had to do as I am having the same issue exactly? thanks
  11. Same here, but firefox renders it perfectly.
  12. This just gets weirder! You tube always renders correctly when logged in locally to the machine, so I guess that rules out the proxy server. I diasbled all GPOs to a user and logged in to the domain but that user still had the problem. What else, other than GPOs, is applied to a user logging on to the network as I assume that whatever that is must be causing the problem!
  13. Yes, I had the problems with ie8 so rolled back to ie7.
  14. When I log on to a machine as a local admin IE7 works fine but if I log in on the domain I mostly (!) have youtube looking like this... http://i848.photobucket.com/albums/ab41/regphenna/youtubemessedup.jpg I guess that one of my GPOs is causing this problem but not sure how or why. Has anyone else had anything similar.
  15. All my site is working fine and has been for over a year but when people click on the blogs section in the top menu here Prenton High School for Girls all the sites formatting disappears! It didn't do this originally so I'm not sure what's caused it. Has anyone seen this happen before?
  16. I fixed it with this thread from another forum Apache2 And PHP5 Doesn't work, download php file - Ubuntu Forums
  17. Done that! I have seen this before on another apache install but can't remember where to go to fix it.
  18. Now as usuial I have jumped in with both feet and upgraded my FOG install to 0.29 and now when I browse to fog/fog/management/index.php I get the following error... Now I know this is something to do with apache not knowing what to do with a php file but I don't know what to do to make it happy! Could anyone help me? Thanks
  19. Ah we have Eclipse.NET. Do you just add cams etc as hardware?
  20. I am the first to put my hand up and say I am not a very organised person, but I'm trying to become one. At the moment if somebody borrows a camera or a projector I will make a note of it 'somewhere' but not always in the same place. Now I want to keep it in the same place so I'm after suggestions? Would a large book be best so the staff have to physically sign for the kit? Or maybe use the library system? How do you do it?
  21. Has anyone had the client working on a Win7 machine? It's the one thing that makes me not want to move to Win7.
  22. You'll have to change your avatar if you do!
  23. I noticed the data entry aspect. That's what put me off a bit.
  24. I have been meaning to look at this ever since we installed glpi but never got round to it. We currently use hesk (a simple php script) as our helpdesk which works fine but i wondered if anyone can sing any praises of GLPI helpdesk, or if they too found it slightly confusing? thanks
  25. Thanks guys, I'll investigate your suggestions.
