Hi All, I have just come out of a very long, mostly boring, marketing strategy meeting. My topics of discussion were how we could freshen up our school's website by getting a professional designer to get involved and to ensure it is updated on a regular basis. Also I mentioned creting a twitter account so we could inform parents of events and also let them know via something like feed burn (?) that the website has been updated. So I am after anyone else's experience lately of these sort of issues and if getting a professional in helped?

I have happily gone about my business for years without gigving it a moments thought, but I can't go on any longer. Can someone please explain to me why I might need Radius! All my network is secured with active directory so what does Radius server do to secure more? Sorry but I am having a samll moment here!

What are the chances of speaking to a nearby friendly school and plonking a NAS box in their site? Then using something like RSync to backup to it? I have been playing with our backup software (Backup Assist) and I have had full backups running over the internet to a remote NAS box. Not sure what the legal implications would be on this.

I have bootcamped our mac suite with Windows 7 and all devices, bar icam, have installed fine. But no audio is apparent! Has anyone else experienced this? I have googled and gone thru first 3 pages of results with no joy.

Hi All, I'm playing more with ruckus and I have uploaded a floorplan just to see what can be done. My problem seems to be that my diagram is not to scale. Has anyone else implemented this and worked out how to do it? Thanks

I'm just trialling ruckus and am so far very impressed. However I am trying to find an easy way to add an allow list of computers without having to add mac address individually. There is a log off recently connected machines and wondered if that could be used somehow? Thanks:D

We have a limited number of smoothwall licenses so we decided to put our more challenging students on to it. For speed we created a new OU and changed the gpo that affected it to point items in it to smoothwall. Is this best practice or would we be better creating a group, naughty users, and then adding our challenging kids to this group? Thanks

Just as a follow up, I found that winclone was a great tool to use to clone the windows partition side. Takes about 10 minutes to image a 10 Gig partition from a network share. Works for me!

HI All smoothie users, I have 10 licenses running at the moment authenticating with AD and would really like the end user not to have to put their deials in manually. Is there a way to make this process transparent to the end user? Thanks

I'm not sure what I am missing here so I'll explain! I have our macs set up so our ad users can log on and access their home folder on the windows server no problem. I have a problem however when they try to access the shared resources on a second windows server "Server2" If they try to access that server from finder under shared nothing happens, so they click on connect and they are given a log on box. If they log on with their username and password the connection fails BUT if they log in wi9th their username and domain name they can access the folder e.g. user@prentonhigh. So I am missing something probably to do with DNS? Can anyone help on this one? Thanks

I'm scratching my head. I am trying to perform a new install of MAC OS 10.5 on a macbook so I can start again from scratch. MAc OS is already on it, but I want a new clean install. When I run the macbook with the DVD inserted I get to the install screen, but when I choose install Mac os x I get a fail screen telling me... INSTALL FAILED Mac OS X could not be installed on your computer. The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install I only have the option to reboot from there. Is this common, am I missing a fundamental step? thanks
