We bought a ClickView 24-7 box for about £3,000, has 6 1TB drives and 6 TV cards so we can record 6 different channels non stop. Some of our video's have been watched over 10,000 times and about one in 5 classes include a video from clickview.

Hi I am having a real problem, we are trying to do a silent install of a setup.exe. We have made a setup.iss in the shared folder. But when we run the command line for the silent install which goes something like "\\servername\AEIPFERes\Client Install.exe" /s the exe file opens an msi file which runs silently, but immediatly opens up another msi file which is not run silently and needs to be done manually. I cant run them as seperate installs they are part of the same package. Does anyone have any tips?

I have had a user who deleted some JPEG files off a usb stick, I have used some recovery software to retrive them, however many of them are comming back corrupted. does anyone have any handy tips to repair these files or are they corrupted forever?

Yes, however if i cannot force the error instead have to wait for it to occour I cannot tellif any changes I make will fix it first.

What I have done is narrowed it down to the USB connection, however now sure which end. I unplug the cable and re insert it into a different USB slot. The board starts up fine two beeps and all is well the pen works and its still calibrated. However two hours later the problem recurred, and pulling the cable in and out is obviously not aceptable. I spoke to tech support at promethean and the guy had never come accross this problem before, and advised me to re install the driver. Later on I did that, and it worked. But not being able to replicate the error without waiting for it to do it I cannot tell yet if it has worked. So we will wait and see tommorow. Thanks for everyones help.

I have a problem with one of our interactive whiteboards that I can find no support or help for on the promethean website. I wondered if anyone has ever had the promethean icon flash red on and off and not connect via the USB cable. The problem started last week and when I replaced the USB cable it worked fine, now it has started again and its really bugging me as everything seems fine.

I know this may sound silly but where are the cat 5 cables in relation to the power cables? I know of places that have very slow log ons int he afternoon and it was due to in the afternoon they turn all the lights on and the interferance from teh mains was causing the network slow down.

Is there any way you could be more specific, I am at the profile properties page but can in no way see how I would stop full names being shown. First name, Last name and Name are all a property but i cannot delete or edit any of them.

I have no doubt the copper in my area is beyond poor, and watching the BT man who put my phone line in makes me think im lucky to get anything. But its better than being fooled by a company like virgin who claim to put fibre lines in your house, the last few feet are fibre and put in by someone who went on a weeks course on how to terminate opposed to the professionals who train on it for months.

If your getting the whole sky package with sky+, sky talk & sky broadband then its deffinatly the best way to go. The speeds are not great however I have the 16mb package and I live about half a mile from the exchange and I get about 9mb speed.

Does anyone have any good tales of haunting in your school, ever seen one or know someone who has? The school I used to work at had a teacher who passed away while he was still employed and he haunts the school. I was once working on my own and heard someone shout "be quiet" in the corridor and then a fire door opened. And I was the only person in the building. Also the lab technician put the gas key in the lock, turned it, turned around and walk away and the key hit her on the back of the head.

Hi I would like to show the usernames not the full name in MOSS 2007. I have imported from AD and as you can imagine it can resolve the full names of the user but I want it to show the usernames off people (preferably staff) so that when Staff add documents or announcements it doesnt show their full name.

Would vote for pugh, but would suggest knowing exactly what you want first and explaining it to them and making sure they understand. Bought 4 2008 licenses and the product key didnt work, they spent the best part of 6 weeks figuring out why their 2003 key wouldnt work on 2008. Could you not go into secpol.msc > Local Policies > Security Options > Do not display last username Enable?

Why not staple some old junk to the wall and have a timeline consisting of the evolution of the DVD, start at some really old floppies through to CD's and such. Then maybe glue some components you dont need and let them see the insides? Our DT department has a functioning PC displayed in perspex box with all the components cabled lengthened and seperated from each other. Even the hard drive has a perspex case so you can see it whirring around.

These desks are really neat Multi-Purpose ICT Desks, School IT Desks, Classroom Educational Furniture, ICT Furniture Altho there are some issues with how the mice and keyboards are wires, so that you basicly have to dismantle the whole back to replace one. however they are good in that they remotely lock and open, so if PC's are not needed the screens stay down and are locked, when they are needed the teacher presses a button and the screens rise up. Pretty neat

Thats the idea, but then how to list them in the directory in the picture I showed.

I recently just installed the default sharepoint site on a server to play around with. The one thing that is making my head hurt is customizing the site directory. I want to change the default "Division" "Region" "Tasks & Tools" columns to one that is a department with links to all my departments like english, the second to other sites like outdoor pursuits and such and not sure about a third. But I cannot figure out how to do this at all. Can anyone help? Have attatched a mock-up to try and show what I mean.

We dont do activities as such but there is CCF on a thursday which is combined cadet force. They all get dressed up in camo, air force or navy uniforms and do things such as rifle shooting, marching and so forth. All very odd to me. Altho Sergeant Major is a good laugh.

Yeh full lessons for all the school, preparatory too. Usually just 8:45 till 1pm tho.
