  1. Anyone used http://www.tradeitin.uk.com/ or other options? Our 130 staff iPads are up for renewal this year, and this company happened to email us last week, and they're at BETT (going tomorrow). Peter
  2. Ha ha ha ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha. Sorry, seriously - we use Salamander for all sorts, not just RMMC - they create and maintain Exchange accounts and mailing lists, GApps accounts, Classrooms, parent AD accounts (outside of RMMC), Parent Portal links. Peter
  3. I do this every year. Kings Cross/St Pancras > Circle Line to Tower Hill > Walk across to Tower Gateway > DLR to Custom House (or Prince Regent this year). Peter
  4. Ditto to all that - support was the first thing that came to mind when reading the announcement. Thanks for the update. We're looking at moving ParentPay over to WisePay at Easter - the Single Signon aspect of Wisepay is particularly of interest. Guess I should look at SC's payment module given we adore SC's messaging. Ditto to getting rid of the memorable word! Have you considered AD authentication? ("Use current windows credentials" ideally, but if not then LDAP)
  5. We're using Salamander and CC4. What they do is create a CSV of the users you want to import (eg new students that have appeared in SIMS since yesterday) and save it in a given folder on the network and email you telling you it's there. You then go into RMMC and users > import, pick the .CSV and hit next/ok a few times. It has all the necessary template/folder/server columns populated so you don't need to change anything in the import wizard. Peter
  6. Had Biostore in last week - was also impressed with them. It seems a much more all-in price structure versus others who charge you more if you want to sell food on days beginning with T, or if you want to add ketchup to that.
  7. Ah, sorry. It's a while since I did that exercise - in fact I think I did it as part of new install so I never had to actually change the existing server.
  8. I'm guessing he wants to change the current SA password on an existing instance?
  9. 69 views and no responses - not sure if that's good or bad?
  10. Although there have been various threads on ParentPay, usually with Cunninghams integration, there's very little mention of Wisepay other than @sonsofsanta We're likely changing cashless at Easter and I've done most of the research on that already, but it's just been mooted that we might change payment system as well. We're currently ParentPay (with Cunninghams) and likely going Nationwide. Does anyone use Wisepay, or have anything to say about it? Reason I'm looking at it (initially) versus others is the SSO opportunity, as all our parents already have AD accounts for our other portals so this would be an excellent opportunity to merge them. Peter
  11. Tell us more? I'm looking at Paxton and Inventry for Easter/Spring Bank install.
  12. Hi, Just received an email for a thread I'm subscribed to and the link at the top is: This thread is located at: http://www.edugeek.net/http://www.edugeek.net/showthread.php?t=124240&goto=newpost I've not had this problem before. Peter
  13. I've heard the same yarn about needing physical, and when we went VMware about 8 years ago, we kept one. When we upgraded VMware and hardware 3 years ago, we got rid of physical DC.
  14. We've already got Bio cashless - had it for 10 years - but want to replace it with RFID at same time as this project. Copiers and current staff badges are Mifare so definitely will be for students.
  15. The SAN in our VRTX (backup/DR) is no different to the SAN in our server room - there's no means of shutting down the main SAN other than pulling the plug out, so we just shut down everything else and leave the SAN pulling relatively little power.
  16. We're planning on RFID for students at either Easter or Summer (depending on timescales of a premises project that's happening concurrently). Considering RFID wristbands rather than badges; less likely to be lost during the day, once they put them on in the morning.
  17. Yep - either individual guest files (as B&R) or you can export each disk as a .vbk disk file. Peter
  18. Full computer.
  19. Nah - Endpoint still does deduplication so should be quick. We backup 10TB in 24 minutes over the LAN, because not much data changes on a daily basis. Peter
  20. No, I believe you are correct that only one job can be created, full stop. Although it's great that Endpoint integrates into B&R now, it's still only designed as standalone for smaller users who don't have B&R, or for those last remaining physical servers that aren't VM'd yet. I have three servers, one being a Windows NAS, that I use Endpoint to backup the entire server and store it into B&R on a nightly basis. Peter
  21. Ditto.

    Papercut Query

The Exchange equivalent of this would be to authorise the sending IP address as a legitimate sending server. This is under Server Config > Hub Transport > Receive connectors in Exchange - can you see a similar option anywhere in O365? Peter
  23. Or c) Tell you it's done...!
