  1. That's how we do it also. In general I'd like to say that "you only forget to wait for the popup once" - but then I know I occasionally forget when I'm in a hurry. Peter
  2. Anyone looking at Impact Fusion? I've hated the old Impact (sub contracted from CRB in Scotland) for years but the newly written from the ground up product looks better. I don't condone CRBCunninghams pricing but don't forget they were bought out or brought under group control of Jonas last year so some of the changes might be out of their hands. (Posted same time as above post)
  3. Cunninghams isn't too much different to this...
  4. I think it's around the sync of user data - I guess both systems pull from MIS so that's ok, but if you register a mifare card in one, it would be great if it pulled into the other without having multiple lots of card registration procedures. Peter
  5. Does the new Cunninghams idStore still use the old Impact that was CRB Cunninghams subcontracted software from Scotland, or is there a new cashless catering software to go with the new Bio backend?
  6. Thanks both. I'm happy to have a custom SQL based link between NRS and others; Papercut currently has staff Mifare IDs in so useful to grab those into NRS and also feed Paxton and Inventry. Peter
  7. @jdoldridge - how are plans going with this? We're looking at Inventry for Easter, NRS for , and Paxton for summer - our ID badges for various systems are mifare so I want to use them for all the above. How is NRS cashless as a system, and are you integrating it to Inventry? Peter
  8. Howdy. Just bumping my own thread from 2 years ago. We're looking at this again, and wondered if peoples opinions of NRS are the same / better / worse? (I've seen a number of concerns about SmartID, but they are dated - how is it now?) @peepsw, I've emailed you earlier - speak to you when you're back off holiday. Peter
  9. It's in Add New Service Agreement. "Service Type" is set to "Not for Statutory Return" and Add Role > Role is "Do not include in Statutory Returns". SWR is a tickbox under Basic Details > "Elegible for SWR". Peter
  10. Mine doesn't - but I now suspect that's because I'm super-admin on GAFE.
  11. Should have said, we also implemented ADFS (with your guidance) - but it doesn't cover all scenarios. If users just browse to drive.google.com it doesn't SSO them, so they still need their Google password to be set. Peter
  12. Ditto, ditto and ditto. Using FN-GM's advice earlier in the year, we moved away from Realsmart this summer, and now use a combination of GADS, GAPS and SalamanderSoft. Peter
  13. Remove the ""s from the CSV. (Open it in notepad and do replace) (Or even better, open and just hit save in Excel) Peter
  14. Email sent.
  15. @PhilNeal - any thoughts on the above? Should GroupCall be using future data? (I know the answer to that, but they are refusing - do Capita have conversations with their partners about using features?) Peter
  16. Hi John - long time no see! Nobody likes it here since our reception manager left 18 months ago - she fairly happily did most of them as long as I wrote the spiel for her. I do the emergency closure ones and other such bits, but my voice is so droaning on the phones that nobody (rightly) wants me to do the main ones. It's me that's wanting to get some form of recording voice to save chasing down a willing volunteer in school.
  17. All CAN be set to look to the future, yes. Try telling your SIMS partners that. Groupcall are refusing to, so to get live data to test a new product with this summer, I've had to clone my SIMS server, turn off the old one and set the date forward to September, run the extract, then turn off the clone and turn on the live server, every other day through the holidays. Microlibrarian (Eclipse) also use Groupcall and they don't accept any pre-admission data so I can't import anything until start of term. ParentPay don't use Groupcall; they do see pre-admission data, but the students' year and form don't import until the start of term so our activation letters are blank. So unless PhilNeal can pursuade Groupcall that there is a valid use case for wanting future data, my query in this thread still stands. (Oh, add SAM Learning to that list of feeds that don't take data until term time)
  18. TP products? Our new year 7 students are admitted mid hols and have UPNs, and are assigned classes - they just don't appear in those classes etc until academic year starts. If we can set term to start 1 week early we've time to sort the sync's out.
  19. Howdy. We have various systems that run daily/weekly imports, but as you will be familiar, they won't upload data for the new academic year until SIMS ticks over into the configured start date. Has anyone set their academic year to start in say the last week of summer hols (with first few days set as holidays), in order to allow these new uploads to run before the first day of term? Does anyone know of any legal/academic/educational reasons why this shouldn't be done? Peter
  20. Usually once the data in SIMS is within the new academic year dates defined in ParentPay, the upload should succeed. However this year we had a different error saying we needed a new academic year defined - even though we had already defined it - so Support had to force ours through. Peter
  21. Hi everyone. Wasn't sure if this was Hardware or Phones (which is more mobile telephony rather than landline telephony). Just wondering what you use for auto attendant/voicemail voice recordings? Is it just some random person in the office, who inevitably leaves during the year and isn't around to record any changes? Or Microsoft Sam? Or some 3rd party website/person/service? Has anyone used any decent 3rd party ones? Peter
  22. Might steal this idea partially as well. We already email parents a welcome letter with their initial password; no reason we shouldn't email a letter to staff when salamander creates AD and email, but without the password bit.
  23. You might have to point them at "South Craven School" to get the workflow and map that we're using as this data isn't in the default installs. Peter
  24. It's not really tailored for our school, per se - anyone who uses iDoceo on their iPads could use this same functionality. Our Parent Portal authenticates against AD so that students and staff have on set of credentials - we added parents into their own OU so they could a) login and b) make use of ADSelfService Plus to reset their own passwords. Peter
