  1. Can't believe I missed this! I don't suppose there is any chance we can still get in on the offer?
  2. If anyone hasn't tried this yet, they should. We've recently joined NetSupport and have been very impressed with both the setup and features of DNA. The deployment works great, we've already deployed to over 750 of our PCs without doing one manual install. We found the Dynamic groups awesome. We can now instantly manage/see the amount of PCs with SIMS installed, AV, Office versions etc.
  3. Also taken a look at our updates to make sure we have everything sorted. We have also temporarily made it so all attachments from external senders are approved by exchange admins beforehand. We already block executables, but as these are coming through as PDFs...
  4. Caught a bird sitting on the fence....
  5. Everything but Yammer I believe.
  6. We have some of the older units before the new AC PRO came out, I think they were the AP LR model. We are around 3 and half years into usage and haven't had any failed units, from last year we are now only buying the newer Pro models though.
  7. We have around 50 Ubiquiti Unifi APs (mix between the older Pro model and the newer AP AC Pro) and we've got 4 of the Ubiquiti Edge Switches, now looking to add more... We also have 10 (ish) Unifi CCTV Cameras too. Haven't had any issues whatsoever with the kit. The wireless networks are all VLAN'd off and the Guest/Portal management is quite good too, we run the Controller software on a low spec Server 2012 VM. We've been very impressed with the kit and since we have done most of the cabling ourselves it works out much cheaper.
  8. Where was the mug from? Got a couple of travel mugs but didn't find a replacement coffee cup!
  9. No problem, will package some stuff up and send it over.
  10. I don't think I'll be able to post it up as is, as it's got a paid premium template (MaterialAdmin) in it and I can't distribute that... If you want code though just let me know.
  11. The site is custom made, the Bootstrap theme was purchased (I think it was Material Admin). PHP/MySQL on IIS with adLdap to get staff details. That's also linked in with their SIMS timetable which updates hourly. Sticky notes, room lookups, search timetable, emergency contact, network status is all custom. The weather is a jQuery plugin, can't remember which but if anyone wants it I'll check it out.
  12. We have just re-done our Staff intranet... Pic attached

  14. Just got our trial, time to get it up and running
  15. I completely agree that any code would need vetting, I mean, if done incorrectly and the API gets spammed with large requests it could be detrimental to the service. I would just like some sort of access for Schools, even if it is basic (like CommandReporter currently) Regarding the security you mentioned, it shouldn't really make any difference. I mean, it's probably more likely someone's password gets stolen that has a greater access than a read only API with a key. Maybe limitations could be put in place to accept requests from authorised IPs only? The skills needed could be an issue, like you mentioned. But then again, I wouldn't expect anyone to just develop applications off their own back (without School/SLT approval anyway). All I ask is that Schools are not automatically excluded from any sort of API access, even if it was on a basic level it would be great. I am not talking about developing commercial applications, just for in-house use. Looking forward to see what comes in 2017! Can we expect to see this in action at BETT 2017??
  16. I know it's probably not been thought about yet... But will School's have access to the API? Or will this be another Capita Partner only feature?
  17. The only issue we've had with iSCSI being slow, is when we re-connected the targets and left the "Connect Using" options set at "Default" instead of actually selecting the Local Adaptor, Initiator IP and Target portal IP in the Advanced section when connecting. Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting to the targets? (obviously with it not in use!)
  18. We have them split up via subdomain... [email protected] for staff and [email protected] Students can look up staff email addresses, our email distribution groups are set so only members of the group can email them (apart from specific groups which are private only) - So no students can email or join staff groups etc.
  19. You will need to "Enable the new Software Center" option in SCCM for it to show in the Software Centre. Not sure the exact reasoning though. Enable the new Software Center in ConfigMgr 1511 | System Center ConfigMgr
  20. We have around 60 of the PCs which we've had for just over a year. Had two failures, 1 wouldn't power at all, we got an engineer out 2 days after and another we had memory fail, which they shipped next day delivery after we sent them a memtest.
  21. Great! Thank you.
  22. Thanks for the info. Very helpful As I understand it now, We do not need the Client ML's if we are just backing up MS Servers. We need a Management License per Server. If we are backing up VMs on a VM host, we need the Datacenter Management Licenses, else the Standard Management License for anything else. Am I correct in still thinking that we need a SQL license for the installation of DPM? I saw this on the page: "No additional licenses are needed for management servers or SQL Server technology." but is that just referring to backing up SQL services? and not the actual DPM backend. Thanks,
  23. Hello, We're looking at getting Data Protection Manager 2012 to manage backups, have a few questions if someone can help? We've been told we require a Client License for each machine we have in a data protection plan. e.g. 10 servers or PCs, 10 licenses. Could someone confirm please? If we're backing up HyperV Virtual Machines, do we need 1 license per VM or 1 per VM Host? We have also been told that the Management License is per user??? (e.g. 3 technicians using it, 3 licenses are required) - I thought this was just 1 for the server install? Thanks!
  24. It's now been disabled here. PowerShell script to remove licenses on all users.
  25. Same here, I've been saving for a while for it, if you already have a ball head on a tripod you can buy it without the ball head for around £290. I've only actually had it a week, looking forward to more clear skies.. can't wait to start taking multiple images and stacking them. Like pcstru mentioned there are other types of mounts you can get as well as some DIY ones. Not sure how good they are, the iOptron comes with a polar scope and mobile app so you can easily align it with polaris.
