Canon 70D Canon 55-250mm IS STM @ 250mm ISO800 77 Second Exposure. iOptron SkyTracker V2 The SkyTracker is what made it work, it mounts on to a tripod and the camera attaches to it. It rotates with the earth to counter the trailing of stars on long exposures. Without it there would be massive star trails. Hopefully I'll be going down the route of taking multiple images and stacking them together.

If you're using IE check that "Bypass proxy server for local addresses" is ticked. It may be that your request is going out to the Internet rather than just locally.

We have one that's developed by us, no network discovery or anything - Just a plain asset management database...

Thanks, I thought it was a bit odd having it's own server name there! I have already set a Software Update schedule and 'Enable software update' on the client settings... Is there even a need to set the WSUS server in the GPO now?

Hello, We have a newly setup SCCM server which is going great (so far)... We do have one slight issue though. Clients are receiving Forefront definition updates as they should and getting software packages/applications perfectly, they are, however connecting to Microsoft Update for Windows updates? (which we don't want!) Our old server with WSUS has been retired (old, slow and would occasionally BSOD) and we have setup a new WSUS server on the SCCM box which also seems to be working fine and downloading definition updates etc. as scheduled. We have modified the clients GPO to point to the new WSUS server and can confirm clients are receiving the GPO. On the configuration for the SUP it's set to 'Synchronize from an upstream data source location and it has it's own server name:8530" which is it's self. If WSUS is installed on the same server is that right? Can't quite seem to find why they are going to Microsoft Update rather than our WSUS/SCCM server Thanks for any help.

We have lots of physical machines but now have 3 Hyper-V hosts and a SAN - Using a Failover Cluster in Hyper-V. When one host goes down, it gets pushed to the next available host (or a preferred one if we've set it) with no downtime. Also have a backup server in another building that takes some Hyper-V replicas of our important VMs that we can fire up if the above fails for some reason. That as well as backed up VMs ready to restore (these are mixed between nightly/weekly backups)

This won't interfere with the installation/deployment of applications will it? I still want to be able to deploy software (remote control, inventory) etc whilst the user is logged on, just not launch the software center. Thanks

I've just found out about using SQL queries to link a User collection to an AD Group.. That works fine now! How do people go about denying students access to the software center completely? Thanks

Hello, I am looking for a bit of advice. We have a newly setup SCCM 2012 server and everything seems to be working fine so far, however, I would like to only show software available in the Software Center to certain users (e.g.only Staff) and I am unsure of the best way to set this up. Would I need to create a new user collection? and specify this in the Deployment of the software... or is there a way of targeting a specific AD Group when deploying software? Thanks for any help.

In Smoothwall It's under Networking > Configuration > Port Forwards. The Local IP on that page would be your external interface and the target would be your internal IP you want to forward to. Like Steve21 said, it may be blocked elsewhere (either by LEA or any other firewall/service you have.

Just started using this on around 10 machines at a remote site.. Quite nice offering for a free service, are many people using this on a large scale? (have you had many issues?)

Our scheduling works, but just double clicking the batch file gives us an error without 'Run as Administrator' Adding the pause will allow you to see the console window without it flashing off, obviously when you have it working - Remove this! We've had a few requests for creating these schedules/batch files/custom reports etc. which was the main reason I am developing this: Once I've done with it, you're welcome to it. It's basically a front-end + hooks into Windows scheduling for running CommandReporter, with the addition of running batches of reports and saving too.

Add a pause command to the end of the batch file script and check the output of CommandReporter in the console. Also, on machines with UAC enabled, we have to Right Click -> Run As Administrator (even with admin rights)

UniFi here too. 36 APs (mixed outdoor/indoor and some pro units) and working great for just over a year.

We have the server running on a Linux (Ubuntu) web server - It works flawlessly, the setup of Xibo and campaigns, layouts etc. all seemed a bit complicated at first but once you get used to it, it's 100% reliable and we have had 0 issues over the past year (unlike the previous solution, Sedao) We have the regular videos, slideshows etc. and a layout with an XML feed that we just update daily - So we don't actually touch Xibo for the daily bulletins.

Ours is quite basic looking, large blocks with images/text to our website, email, internal room booking etc. - It detects if the user is a teacher or pupil and displays different information. It's due for a re-design and probably move to a content management system in future.

It looks like the website is returning JSON data; they're probably using AJAX for the login page/form on the website... Not sure how to get around it either!
