This summer I change all of our switching and Cctv over to unifi and loved it so far. Installed the Wi-Fi on Thursday which was ridiculously easy. Speeds and coverage are great!

+1 for unifi rolled it out to 2 schools. Got 30 onsite with the unifi application server running the show

We have our internet provided by EXA who need an ssl installed in order to connect. However we are unable to automatically activate smart notebook as it doesn’t like using custom SSLs... Anyone else had this? Only thing smart can suggest is a manual activation.

So I guess we wont be able to use gsuite for email storage ect?

We are looking at using the free google edu stuff. We are all set up and have been given the free license. However I need to ensure our data is stored only in the uk for obvious reasons. Is there a way I can specify this? Support have exactly been helpful only telling me that data will be secure...

We have around 300 ipads and still growing. We are also an apple regional training centre so we offer staff free cpd using them as well as schools in the town. I have found them to be solid devices when managed properly as we barely see them once given out. Sign yourself up for Mosyle Manager on a free license and manage everything in there- no need to bring them back in and apps can be pushed out easily! Massive investment has been done here to ensure they are of use in every subject as a tool not a replacement to a teacher. We are replacing nearly 150 this year with newer ipads as the old ones have now reached the end of their support. Mostly ipad mini 1s and ipad 2s. Replacing all of them with ipad 5s and a few ipad pros. DM me if you have any questions

Have moved all of my switches, cctv and next month our WiFi over to UniFi. Rock solid and amazing value. We have the application server to run the software, which is just a cloud key on steroids!

Had similar issues with dns the other day. Decommissioned restarted then repromoted the dodgy server resolved the issued. Friend of mine had it as well both of us running 2016. Edit- the ad replication tool is your friend here!

We had around 100 a while back and ended up giving them to early years as they always love stuff for crafting. Last time I was in there they were using them as bricks to build towers!

Just concerned at what information google could access if I were to use it to store veeam backups but I could encrypt those!

I assume you are encrypting all the data you are storing?

Just a FYI- netinstall is still available on the latest version of server- you need to re-enable it from the view menu. Just built a new server and it is working. Obviously not a long term solution but will work for the time being

I am the IT Manager at a large primary and also have an apprentice onsite. We are both full time and work all year round. Being primary we do alot more than just IT, but still plenty to keep us busy!

actually just figured that bit out... my current network is on 10.43.**.** so should I set up an ip range on 10.44.**.** on lan port 2 then connect that to the router? Or should I change my ip range on my network?
