My project for this year is to redo the cabling for my entire site including purchasing new switches. The Ubiquiti line is looking very appealing as they are very well spec'd and cheap! Anyone currently using them? We will be looking at using the US-48-500w with 10gb fibre terminating back to the server room then into a ES-16-XG. I know there are some issues with DAC cables so will be using fibre and gbics.

NetSupport DNA - New version 4.5
kidpressingbuttons replied to Al_NetSupport's topic in Enterprise Software
Very excited to see this release. We are due to purchase a monitoring solution this year and this looks ideal! We are an Apple school so i'd be interested to see how DNA will get on. -
Set up WebDAV on a vm then use the free WebDAV app. Also the new Home access plus app is awesome and I use that personally. My current school is using foldr which is awesome but obviously costs!

How do you stop the students damaging keyboards?
kidpressingbuttons replied to cmurdoch062's topic in General Chat
We are a primary school of 700+ nursery. It may not look great removing machines and not replacing them but its the only way people will physically see the cost. Teachers will soon get annoyed when there is no longer a class set of laptops ect and it will get passed up the chain! -
How do you stop the students damaging keyboards?
kidpressingbuttons replied to cmurdoch062's topic in General Chat
Visible damage on machines causes more damage. If the machine has any damage here it is removed. If something can be done to repair it then it will be returned. If not it is not replaced. Did this when I started my current school and removed about 20 laptops on the first holiday. After that damages went down to near non existent! -

VisIT Two MSI from SGWorld?
kidpressingbuttons replied to ReverentCreature's topic in How do you do....it?
they tried charging us to reinstall the clients- told them you cant expect a school to not reimage/ replace machines. Got given the install files soon after! Now just need to ring up to activate it whenever it is installed. -

Had my Kyocera mfds not working after we switched off smb1. Supplier was in next day and upgraded the firmware on all the copiers to support smb2. Worth checking with your provider! -
Apparently when buying online you can share the game with others just by signing into their xbox. Will be using this when I next buy a big title and split the cost with someone else. I know a few of the games on their now also let you play them in windows so they try and justify the cost that way!

Promethean touch screen USB issue
kidpressingbuttons replied to AlexM's topic in Promethean Direct Support
This is not something you would go through Promethean to support- your installer should be your first stop. We have a mixture of promethean products and all have been rock solid so not sure why you are experiencing such issues. Got the same touch screens from nursery to year 6 and all are faultless. -
In need of a battery for a Hp Envry 17-j120us Notebook as mine has completely died. Seen one on partsmaster for £83- can anyone recommend somewhere I could pick one up cheaper? edit- its for a personal laptop not for the school

Senso.cloud vs Impero
kidpressingbuttons replied to mavhc's topic in Network and Classroom Management
The biggest feature we are looking for is if senso will be able to monitor ipads- impero does but we dont have enough licenses currently. We are due for renewal with impero this year and not looking to renew with them as impero has just become so buggy! -
