  1. Awesome I can put a name to face now. Only 40000 other geeks to go now! Great seeing you today really good chat!
  2. Were you in the hat? Did you speak with me? Was I talking at a million miles an hour?
  3. How does this work with multiple schools? Aspen is a multi-tenancy system allowing academy trusts to have a single system that is shared by all schools. Each school only sees their own data and information, students staff etc. but at the top level the directors or sponsors can see cross school information, compare, analyse an report. This is a standard built in feature of Aspen not requiring any additional modules or the likes.
  4. Does Aspen have an API? Good question, the answer is no, but we utilise our user customisable sections to utilise web services to push data processes from the system rather than pulling from x third party system. This is great for working with home grown 3rd party systems
  5. Question 1: where is the stand! Oh wait that way my boss!!
  6. Just a little fun: I will be posting as often as I can listing interesting questions and answers delivered at BETT over the next week. If you have any and are (or are not) at BETT, feel free to add to this thread!
  7. ahhhhh I remember those days!
  8. Cannot say I agree with a blanket statement for all solutions, I know what you are saying. If Intouch was competitively priced, offered everything competitors do and easy to use and functional everywhere... then why not take advantage of integration? Not for the first time...
  9. Don't get me started on that subject John!!! bahaha! See you all at BETT!
  10. I think we could agree I probably support my friends at Schoolcomms more than anyone, I used Schoolcomms for years and have since worked with the staff there, great people. The software is great, relatively cheap, and just works. There are a few cool things coming out soon (sworn to secrecy!) that will address some of these things, plus I am promissed something very cool for BETT which even I don't know about! I think the cost does have a huge impact, I didn't know Intouch was that expensive especially compared to other products on the market. Do go and speak to Dave, Tim or Frances on the stand at BETT, I will be!
  11. Be interesting to see how come Academies get on with this who can and do have very different requirements and structures...
  12. I know you don't! Looking forward to seeing announcements from you at BETT, Ian wouldn't tell me anything!! lol
  13. Think I'll be hanging round towards the end of the day then! lol
  14. I am probably the only person who cannot NOT be there!!! Come along buddy happy to show you the wears... Except Friday I'm likely to be called away that day.
  15. *cough* *cough* *Aspen*
  16. Don't we all!
  17. Frances and Dave have been keeping secrets from me then, I didn't know about this... I'm hurt! lol
  18. I am hoping someone with more recent knowledge can jump in soon too!
  19. Open it up in wordpad, you'll see the text there. If you have not seen this before it won't mean much, so might be worth copy/paste onto here for people to diagnose. With the permissions, all users need to be able to read to the folder/file. at least.
  20. Have a look at these guys: Parents Evening System - Online Parents Evening Software I used their earlier system RoomBookingSystem it is very easy and works great. Believe they integrate with SIMS too.
  21. I don't know if that has been fixed but back in the day there were permission issues with the local SIMS folders on the PC on W7, could be your first port of call. Of course, make sure the sims.ini file is there in the first place!
  22. It sounds mighty complicated for a SIMS server, remember this runs fine for most on a bog standard server setup.
  23. Who is this xyzMIS... do I need to do my research?
