  1. I saw this on Friday. Probably my favourite MCU movie yet. I can't think of a single substantial complaint. HAIL HYDRA!
  2. If you're just getting started, there's a great guide called somethign like The Complete Noob's guide to getting started with Dwarf Fortress. It starts with an already generated world and walks you through it. Failing that, teh same guy wrote an actual book which is fantastic called Getting Started with Dwarf Fortress. There's also the odd good youtube series out there. I haven't dared venture into Adventure Mode yet, but the next update looks like it's going to be super heavy on that so then I'm gonna give it a shot. And elves are literally the worst race ever in this game. It goes: Dwarves > Dwarf children > Dwarf babies > Dead dwarves > Dragons > Forgotten Beasts > Kobolds > Humans > Goblins > DEAD ELVES > Elves
  3. Well... It's actually more gruesome than I let on. I snapped a pic quickly because I whatsapped it to a friend. The glassmaker actually punched the baby so hard that its rib pierced its lung until what I suppose is a collapsed lung killed him. And... I'd say it's more than common. Before murdering each other, I decided that I didn't have enough food and those smelly awful prissy stupidly tall wood-loving elf merchants had too nice of a donkey with them, so I slaughtered them and then forgot how to dispose of corpses. Their skeletons were on display 'til the end. As it should be. F@*& elves. Disclaimer: It was lunchtime when I was playing it!
  4. I don't get this often, but the few times this kind of stuff's happened it's been annoying as hell. I can never tell if it's because I'm young or a woman, though. - After I got my job at 17, one of the teachers asked me to fix really obvious things as "tests". I thought he might just have been a bit thick for a bit until another teacher said "Oh yeah, he was testing you." - External people can be really rude and condescending if they don't already know me. The RM guys are great on the phones for example, but we've had contractors from one company both ask me if I was the receptionist and then literally offer me a job and hand me their card in front of my manager twenty minutes later and then wink at me on their way out. A visiting teacher from another school did once really embarrass me when she said she didn't think my clothes (cargo pants that day because I was crawling under desks managing cables with lots of tools in my pockets and dust everywhere) was appropriate for a teaching assistant. I was only there to make a cup of tea, leave me alone!
  5. I forgot this was a subforum, and the new update for dorf fort (2 years in the making!) is rumoured to be coming soon... Anyone else play? I got into it again kind of recently (gave up a while ago after no guides helped my dumb brain, then found some better ones that did) so I really do suck. I abandoned my last fortress last week after one dwarf went into a tantrum with no prior warning which set off a chain reaction of everybody going insane and murdering each other, the animals and the children. I watched my favourite dwarf who had previously been crippled after one too many fights with bears grow old and become too injured to lift anything... And then he was murdered by the glassmaker who had just suffocated a baby. Fun!
  6. I hate labelling myself as anything that isn't "radicool sik dewdette yo", but: - I read and collect comics and administrate a large (hundreds of members) FB group dedicated to comics and cartoons. I'm trying to write and know a few people in indie comics. It's my life goal to call Dan DiDio a PoS to his face one day. - I'm a CoC keeper (a bad one) and go to a roleplaying and boardgaming pub meetup often - PC gaming and trying to collect older games I love on disks. - I spend more time prepping for LAN parties than I do going to LAN parties. - "Losing is fun!" is a favourite catchphrase of mine. F*** elves. A few members of staff have called me "such a nerd" and I've just practiced my scowly face at them.
  7. I tried to warn them that they looked like they were going to be discontinued soon. Advised against them and everything, but look who just finished deploying iPad 2s today...
  8. Do a Day of the Triffids and head to the Isle of Wight.
  9. Just try and remember to stand in a great pose for when we find your shadow!
  10. I'll leave that to you lot, tyvm.
  11. Do what they've always done? Write on the interactive whiteboards in pen.
  12. Eh, enclosed rooms maybe, but in these scenarios you'd be better off with a brick or some boltcutters. Stealth's optional! ... And I'm not the speediest.
  13. I'd do a Bob's Burgers and steal some prepper's food. All I have in the way of skills is "workplace" first aid and amateur lockpicking. Which is guaranteed to be useful when there's a shortage of bricks and windows... Not.
  14. That's way better. I'm slightly less on the case but still putting in a mild amount of effort by printing it off! The truth is I'm actually just too lazy to download Office on this computer and already had this installed.
  15. I'm on the case!
  16. Had a wonderful time walking two miles across roads full of people who've forgotten to turn their brains and/or lights on this morning.
  17. I am but a lowly technician, but get me drunk enough and I'll be singing this from the rooftops.
  18. I think I took the last edugeek travel mug at BETT... Had the joy of seeing a teacher have a little rant about people using her mugs while sipping from my RM mug in the staff room last week. Who knew she was qualified?
  19. It's Owlman, stupid!
  20. Anyone feel free to PM me with how many you want and we'll try to arrange postage. I can't guarantee they're all amazing, but the interactive part will work on them. Possibly not the eraser part or the pen itself. I'll test them before sending them. I only have them because I figured they were worth rescuing from the scrap when we got rid of our Classboards but kept one anyway.
  21. Everyone's issues have pretty much been fixed, but just in case anyone reading this thread in the future finds it relevant for quick fixes, I'll post this quick one I did for several drives and printers. Using CC4 that I don't have admin rights to is a pain, but I've managed mostly a workaround without having to pay for the unmanaged connection software. @echo off net use * /delete /y echo Please type your network user name set /p username= Net use T: "[\\Example share]" /user:domain\%username% %password% /persistent:no Net print "[\\Example printer]" Best solution I've found with how limited I am, all I have to do then is get staff to realise that just because they can't see the asterisks, their password IS being typed. It deletes previously mapped drives every time it's launched, so I've put it on a couple of desktops so that they can switch easily. Can also map the user's documents for a specific person's use. Especially useful on a few Windows Starter netbooks that can't use group policies.
  22. Come with me if you want to live?
