Another new connection type. can’t we just make sure USB-C connectors are the norm first? Maybe I’m getting old. Technology is moving too Fast.

FoI Request re: Upgrading Capita SIMS7 to a Cloud-based version
XiJ replied to DMurray's topic in MIS Systems
I see alliance and read cartel. That said I think SIMS is not fit for purpose and stuck in the 90’s. Cloud MIS is the future* *There is no cloud. It’s just someone else’s computer. -
British Airways Plane Repainted In Retro Livery For 100th Anniversary
XiJ replied to 6Foot2's topic in General Chat
Would love to see an A380 in the Landon livery -
I found the whole apple server so hit and miss (and I say that as an Apple fan boi) that I just stopped using it. Management is done via MDM. Initially meraki but now Mosyle
-
Agreed. But would you trust the government/nhs to deliver on this? Or not sell our data to insurance companies?!
-
It’s for patients too but e mail will become the default - you can still get snail mail. The report I read was for GP surgeries so not sure if it includes hospitals. My wife works in a GP surgery and the amount of letters she sends out is crazy. It would save the nhs millions not just in direct costs but also the time staff spend on it. And as a patient I’d much prefer e mail etc. I can already order prescriptions and book appointments through an app which is great. As long as we sill get to actually have some human contact when we need it I’m happy for this change. And I think it’s the right thing to do going forward.

Hcss seem to have rebranded as access education.

It will if your AP’s are 48v models (released in the last year or so). Older ones are 24v only. I would personally go Mikrotik or ubiquiti Toughswitch. Better quality than the netgear. Better UI for managing too
-
Check the PoE Mikrotik our for 5 ports. Can even be powered them selves over PoE (although in my experience doesn’t work well for more than than 1 AP that way)

The OP didn’t say. But sims is bad enough. Hosted sims is a bag of hurt. At least where I saw it (not) in use. And yes I always end up putting the u in Arbor!
-
Awful when one of our schools tried it. Look for arbour or another modern MIS instead!
-
Looking at this now. As I understand it staff users are paid for per user and pupils get the extra benefits for logging in. There staff licenses covers it all. I’m waiting for a chat with MS though as nothing is every simple and the documents seem contradictory is some ways!

Wow great pic! I nearly named by daughter after her (Mriya, not Antonov 225 [emoji23]) Agree about the Vulcan. Although close she’s wasted sat outside there at an airport where she can’t run.
-
There’s space to park around the other side and end of run way. Although I’ve never been when it’s crazy busy - but regularly have lunch there as it’s between a couple of my schools
-
Yeah would love to see the An225. I know it’s been in to Doncaster before which is 20 mins away. I’ve heard the and il-76 fly over after take as I was going to bed one night. Thought it was coming down - so loud! We fairly regularly get an-12’s too.

Boom is our last hope /Star Wars montage.

The tornado became my new favourite after I realised the lightning wasn’t a front line fighter any more (I first heard the lightning screaming overhead at finningley air show. What a noice!) It’s most successful moments - and they really showed it off - was the first gulf war.

I suspect the majority of those jobs will transition to one of the other aircraft being being built. But as an #avgeek I’m saddened by this. Along with the numbered days of the 747 it’s another step backwards in the romance / comfortable air travel. It was an incredible piece of engineering. The A380 is also the best plane I’ve ever flown on as a passenger. Quite, comfy and lots of entertainment. Travelling in a small toothpaste tube for hours will just be dull.

Invest in connectivity and use exchange online? Would that be an option ?

I’ve had this problem today. It was a newly created VPP Apple ID though so thought it was to do with that. Edit: on Safari

In terms of upgrading it’s definitely worth running a new server alongside the current whole you move roles across and migrate data. And wouldn’t even think about anything non-virtual. It could be you look at refurb’d servers. You could run 2016/1019 hyper-v core to help cut down on OS resources. You’ll need storage and ram of course. O365/google is a very good shout though. You have 5 remote sites so ‘cloud computing’ makes a lot of sense.
-
Are you secondary / primary of both ?
-
Thanks for making me feel old remember buying in the US when it was brand new. The whole plane on the way back was just Tetris music.

Oh sorry @ZeroHour ! It was great to meet you and hope you’ve recovered. I blame the air down here At yes, Up Helly Aa sounds fantastic!
