  1. I have not updated yet at home - anything new that is cool with it?
  2. We use teachers2parents and to be fair, it works really well. We get a good response rate when a text it sent.
  3. I am a multi-cultural soviet* from the middle of Wales * I am really not I am just normal!
  4. We have no binding judicial review all the courts can do is make petition for Parliament to change it - but Parliament could refuse if they wanted to.
  5. In theory no - The Human Rights Act is an Act of Parliament so there is nothing stopping Parliament from changing it not apply. That is the entire point of the supreme parliamentary system. Also the Court can make petition for Parliament to change an Act which is incompatible under HRA98 but it is under no binding agreement to do so - this is why this country does not have Judicial Review on laws and no need for a Constitution. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sections_4_and_10_of_the_Human_Rights_Act_1998 (For petition) In theory Parliament could remove the Scotland Act 1998 and the Government of Wales Act 1998 and remove devolution (It never would but the theory is there) EU Directives are only binding law when authorised under the European Communities Act 1972 thus the Government having to make statutory instrument to implement them. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parliamentary_sovereignty_in_the_United_Kingdom
  6. Or mysql_real_escape_string to get rid of nasty injections.
  7. In our Parliamentary Democracy - Parliament is supreme. So you are right no law can be deemed unlawful or incompatible. Where this gets interesting is how Section 28B was inserted, first off it was secondary legislation authorised under the European Communities Act 1972 http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2014/2361/made which was authorised by a EU Directive - ugh confusing.
  8. Estyn visited us recently and I very kindly fixed their Macbook which had broken!
  9. It isn't Meraki's fault, they simply use the payloads provided to them by Apple. Apple is the source of all hell. Also - AB Tutor were doing their own iPad App, but because of the way iOS works - you have to use the AB Tutor app to record anything from the device, so it has built in it a web browser etc.
  10. Hi, Is there a way of designing a SIMS report to get the contacts based on unique student IDs (UPNs/Adno) I have been using telephone number up to now, and lets say it isnt the best identifier to link together! SIMS itself must use a number, hopefully it is accessible! Cheers in advance - SR (Basically I need to make it so every parent has a login so they can see their child's data - new project we are launching but of course they need to be "tied" to their child!!!)
  11. Are you using the App from the App Store? We found this error (and many more) when we tried to use the bundled RDC with Office 2011 which won't load NLA.
  12. I had it close on me after 7% once because I disturbed it (clicked on it) - leave it be and well alone I have discovered!!!
  13. It's always nice to get praise! #unsungherosoftheschool #ifwewerenothereeverythingwouldcrumble

  17. lol when we are using a MDM with one Apple ID
  18. In theory from a database perspective, certain tables in MySQL carry a last updated timestamp, not sure if this happens in MSSQL too.
  19. I used it just the other day to upload all our student usernames to their SIMS profiles, worked a treat. Did an export from SIMS of admission numbers and name, built a script to automatically check AD based on name to fill in a column called 'username'. Once that had done, had about 70 people left who had changed their name etc. Uploaded it all, took a while for it to check and sync the data but 1300+ done.
  20. Those 3 inches make all the difference.
  21. About bloody time for Wallpaper, Passcode and Device Name, now we need password protection on the whole settings menu.
  22. The way I would do it would be (and currently do) Get the report to generate it as XML then use XML Parser in PHP to pass the data to MySQL.
  23. I did after searching just after posting this! Going to try it today
  24. Trying to update all our student UDFs with their PC usernames, however is there a way to do it in bulk? Cheers in advance - SR
