  1. Apple released this to people who had given interest: Whats New for Education.pdf
  2. This makes me super happy
  3. We use one iCloud account for all 67 iPads we have on the network - they are all supervised with Apple Configurator and connect to Profile Manager as their MDM.
  4. Why not build a form which directly posts to MySQL? (If its for a noticeboard it will be a hell of a lot easier than having to reach into mailboxes and pull content out)
  5. Thought this was too dark so - the final product (to update you all) It looks better without black boxes
  6. Hi all, Wondering if anyone has managed to do this: Need a report from SIMS that runs daily that gives us the detentions FOR THAT DAY but all I can get out is when they are set, which is not entirely helpful. Anyone got around this? Thanks in advance SR

    Gaming Chat

Just completed Just Cause 3 - very entertaining and comical game!
  8. We have a small program that runs on all PCs which does things like USB Removal checking on logoff etc So inside it I added a small TCP listener with set of commands, I can very easily send specific targeted messages to certain people, groups or computers - pretty simple really. (This isn't something to recommend as a closed software to install but if you fancy a code challenge, do it!)
  9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JANET From reading that I assume for collaboration purposes, they also control all .ac.uk and .gov.uk domains
  10. Yeah certain sites down too in Wales, seems widespread across UK with JANET providing internet to most academic institutions, most Uni's are down too.
  11. We have looked at getting cover out automatically and found that no report has the scope to view it.
  12. I agree - HomeHub 5 sucks, mine is currently stuck in an orange power light meltdown with BT saying a fault on the line so we will ring you on how to fix it - if its a line issue, i want them to turn up and fix it ffs.
  13. SharePoint would be much easier! No its written in PHP, only frameworky bits are using Bootstrap as it's colour scheme.
  14. To update: Have decided on this design:
  15. Looks bulls%*t to me.
  16. I'm wanting to get cover out programmatically and not using methods already suggested on EduGeek which is pressing buttons.
  17. Hi, Why is SIMS reporting engine so limited - limited in the sense that I want to find some specific data we input into SIMS but can't get it out. They should produce a SQL Reporting Engine to allow for flexibility. [/RANT]
  18. Run both, except our intranet pulls data out of moodle using MySQL.
  19. Our Intranet is simple but powerful and informative. It shows data and live data and has powerful features such as staffing, access control, IT helpdesk. It switches modules depending on the user via SSO so shows students their timetable, homework and detentions. Just looking for a new design to forge together because literally have ran out of room for all the features that SLT want to add.
  20. Hi, As some of you might know our Intranet is awesome (boast here) but due to teachers requesting new things on it we have actually ran out of room in the design. We want to keep our design as it has evolved over 3 years or so but shape it into something fresh, modern and able to fit our new services (which I need to make for 1st January) Just wondering really if anyone wants to share their intranet design so that I can built up a good database of intranet designs and features and then bring them all together into one. Thank you in advance, it will really mean a lot because this has to be right as this will most likely be the last redesign for a long long long time (and most likely my last one) And of course once it is built I will share it with you all so that you can take inspiration from the final design. - SR (Here are some mock designs I found online)
  21. We have one for Android which shows the kids their timetables etc but I need to re-design and recode it and push it across both platforms (iOS + Android).
  22. But it is NEW and EXCITING.
  23. Exam results are held under Data Protection and only students can be issued their results (For example, a Parent without consent of the child cannot view their results) Basically we tried to add the same to our in-house built Parent Portal and came across this issue, so dropped it immediately and just focused on attendance, detentions, achievements, reports, timetable, payments, uniform and questionnaires.
  24. Is it supervised via Apple Configurator? If it is, you can wipe it there as it is the "authoritative" source.
