How awesome was episode 3? I've always liked the roles Rhys Darby has played (particularly in Flight of the Conchords), he played his human character perfectly. I wasn't that hardcore a fan to get all the easter eggs in the episode, but the ringtone on Mulder's phone was nice!

While that's true, you have to bear in mind that there will already be people with experience in the field Matt might want to move into, and an employer is more likely going to choose the candidate with experience rather than someone new to the field who might not even enjoy it. I fancied moving out of IT and doing something outdoors, like a ranger kind of thing. But there are bright young things with years of university and study behind them who will always get the jobs. A love of the outdoors just isn't going to cut it on the application form. In the current employment climate I think when you get to our age (40+) you just have to stick to what you know and hope it lasts until retirement.

Parcelforce tried to deliver a parcel to me last week while I was at work. As I've no idea when they'd come back I arranged for it to be delivered to a local post office, just 200 yards down the road. Next day I got a card saying it had been left at a post office - one several miles away. Rang them, got transferred to their Liverpool depot, didn't get a single apology. Woman at their Liverpool depot said that it was "more convenient" for the delivery man to leave it at the post office of his choice, despite driving past my preferred one to put the notification card through my door. As soon as I asked for her name so I could make a written complaint she hung up and then wouldn't answer the phone.

He's lost my respect now. He didn't too badly out of the incident, its a shame they need to cash in to boot.

Hi Folks, Do you keep an audit of all the departmental software on your network, or externally hosted subscriptions? We're looking into what we have and what other schools may be using or definitely not using so I'd like to arrange an exchange of lists if anyone is willing? We've had a lot of staff changes and some of our programs have been "lost" or just discontinued because of their age and irrelevance to today's curriculum, but we still have an healthy list to exchange. Amazon Firestick for £35. Install and configure Kodu (takes around half an hour tops) You will be absolutely amazed at the power of it and the wealth of TV programmes and movies streamed. The best thing is that it leaves the stick intact so you can access all the legitimate programmes and services - many of which are free, such as the UK TV on-demand services (C5, BBC etc)

I learnt in a Toyota Carina estate, instructor said it was much better to learn in a large "powerful" car than over a piddly little thing then be out of your depth when you passed.

I loved the idea but I agree, very underwhelming. As for his Discworld books I was very disappointed with the Raising Steam. What's happened to Ankh Morpork and the Discworld since the last book? The city seems to have come on leaps and bounds with no detail why. There's now communities outside the city walls and "starter homes". The speed in which the train appeared just defies all logic and engineering. You'd expect the first train to look and operate a little like Stephenson's Rocket, but the book portrays it more like the Mallard, with interiors comparable to the Orient Express. There were far too many references to things like Bradshaw's Railway Journeys, the Railway Children and others, which seemed a little silly. The Railway Children one was just embarrassing. And the thesaurus was out in force (thank God for the Kindle's dictionary) for unused North American slang words, Alpine clothing names and so on. I also saw a couple of references to something called "The Gap". Wasn't this in The Long Earth? Overall, I felt the entire book and the assembling of every key character from the series, to be just a little too forced and becoming too much like our world. The joy of the Discworld was that it wasn't like ours, but this just read like a British Victorian story.
