A friend of mine is in a situation and need my help. He has 2 VMware machines in a HA setup and has to connect a new SAN to them. The SAN is ready to go on a different IP to the existing old SAN. Can someone advise how to go about this? I've looked on line and everything I find is about how to add a SAN from scratch, but I don't know if the process is different when adding additional SAN or when is HA configuration.

I wouldn't do RAID5 with 3 drives - I would always do 4 drives. But if you are doing 4 drives may be worth doing RAID10 for the extra speed

Our MFD have started to develop a fault where printing is so slow. A single page, 35 copies, can take up to 10mins to get completed. The print from the computer is instant, the first page is printed quick enough but then it is like the copier thinks about each one before printing. Can someone explain the process from the MFD point of view. Does it download the print job and print it 35 times, or does it have to download the file 35 times? MFD supplier not being very helpful so just trying to see where the fault lies

I disabled SMB1 on my Win10 machine and access to network shares on 2008R2 and 2012R2 were lost. I hadn't disabled the server side yet, do I have to do that as well to force everything to use at least SMB2?

I've done this before with Windows language packs. I don't know the exact key but I had to made a registry change to tell it not to check WSUS but go direct. Then change the key back after, although I suppose a reboot would have sorted

Ah this is annoying me now. Even entered an Out-File pipe and that file gets created but never populated, like the command doesn't run but it must be running to create the Out-File..... Manually entering command works so command is correct. I can't seem to put a Start-Transcript command in as this can't be piped to then run the command

Is it possible to run a GPO startup script without having a separate file? I want to create a GPO that can be easily moved between different domains and customers but most would involve inserting the path to the file for the startup script. I have tried adding the Powershell exe location in the script name and then adding the "Disable-WindowsOptionalFeature -Online -FeatureName smb1protocol" in the parameter path but that doesn't seem to work Anyone know if it is possible to do?

I don't think this is possible but I want to create a GPO on my domain and then backup/export it. Then I want to be able to import it into lots of different domains via Powershell. Powershell will let me create multiple variables to speed things up. But from what I can tell you can't use any Powershell commands to import a GPO from another domain. Anyone ever done this?

Do you currently block Powershell and other certain files access to the internet? I would be interested in a copy of your group policy if you do.

When they Windows 10 Do they also mean Server 2016?
