So one of the schools I support have just got a Surface Hub. There I was just expecting to sign in and awY we go but no, there is a whole load of initial steps that need to be performed on the account to ensure it work correctly. Still....a very nice piece of kit

Find someone who has a Mac you can borrow just to get them into Supervise mode

11.4 is the last version that does not require a key
-
When you buy a new smart device it comes with 1 years maintenance giving you the right to the latest version. If you don't renew you are only allow the version that was current when the support ended.

It won't auto create the Apple IDs though so moving to ASM wouldn't cause any problems for now. Just gets you ready for when you might want Apple IDs

Help cannot login to Router Ruckus ZF7363 from JP

You can download Ruckus firmware for individual APs without support, just need to sign up. It will work in standalone mode. No license required -
XClaim are made by Ruckus, not Aruba

School Manager you mean? So you have put your Apple Customer ID in and are expecting your devices to show in DEP? -

What console? -
One of our schools needed the road digging up and it cost £1000 just for traffic management. Luckily there was little work so it only cost the school £500 extra. So I agree, £2500 is little when it comes to digging up public paths etc

If you reset the AP using the reset button then the login details will be reset to default. Username = super Password = sp-admin These details are highly documented on the internet -

You need to have the devices supervised to use the full features of ZuluDesk. But you can enrol in ZuluDesk via a URL. I can't recall exactly where it is without logging on but I thought is was easy enough to find -
ZuluDesk very good. We have moved a few schools from Lightspeed to ZukuDesk due to lack of features with Lightspeed

I followed a Microsoft article. Was easy enough to find when googling. Was very easy in the end

This is Cornwall LEA who will charge to move SIMS and I don't believe they give out the sa details like Somerset do. I'll diesel to them to see what they say

And the routes would be setup in RAS?
-
So normally I would do a hardware VPN between 2 sites. Do so would allow any client to connect to services at the remote site (firewall permitting) I have one school where a hardware VPN is not possible and so am looking into a software VPN, more than likely Windows RAS. But the more I think about it I feel it won't work. In my mind if I connect two servers together using RAS then only they will be able to talk to each other and not the clients. Am I thinking abut this in the wrong way or would I have to do something else on the network to be able to get any client from any site to be able to communicate? Also at one end I may be able to stick with a hardware VPN. There wouldn't be any limitation with using software VPN at one end and hardware at the other?

Can you go onto the properties of the batch file and unblock it?? I doubt it is that, probably UAC blocking it, but worth checking
-
Being as two are mapping it would appear that the user is already authenticating correctly.
-
Which one?
-
Can't you just put a bat file in the start up folder so it will map it at every login? Will mean that if it is disconnected for any reason it will remap

I'm not sure what you could really test within a virtual environment. Being as it is one domain there is no forest delegation etc that needs to be set. The question to you would be how are you schools linked? All the schools I have done were all on their own domain. I started with one school and renamed their domain to what I wanted it to be and then used that school as the starting point. Then as more schools came online we would demote their domain and join it up with the new one. Then we rebuilt all machine anyway so they were auto joined to the new domain. Our OU structure is the same in pretty much all schools so getting that done first saved time as you know it works properly.

We need to remove a SIMS server from the domain and join it to another domain as part of a MAT. I was wondering what effect the following would have : 1) Just removing from Domain A and join Domain B 2) At the same time as Q1 look at renaming the server at the same time. The LEA supports SIMS at these schools and so reinstalling isn't the cheapest thing to do as the LEA would need to do it.
