  1. Have you got any more info? Was it a filter or firewall change? Has this been changed for all customers?
  2. @SchoolsBroadband are you aware of these issues with the PlayStore on Chromebooks
  3. So did it work if firewall was completely open but still going via the filter? Or did you need to have both completely open? I could open the firewall fully for the Chromebooks as long as they were still filtered.
  4. Does it not work at all for you?
  5. Will be interested if you get this working. We have it working but not reliably. Sometime Play store connects, other times it just loads with errors. Can not see anything is being blocked.
  6. I’ve been doing this at several schools lately. We are moving print servers (Papercut) to Azure as well and have seen no noticeably performance issues.
  7. I can’t see this is a Microsoft problem, more a Google problem. Or even a problem with the recipients account.
  8. You could set their passwords to be the same and to be changed at first login?
  9. Easiest way would be to setup AAD Connect so AD is synced to Office 365. Students would then use same username and password for email as they do for computer logins
  10. I have the option. Select the Shared Mailbox, select to edit the Sent Items section and slide it to “Copy Items sent as this Mailbox”
  11. There is a simple toggle that you can switch on in the Admin center to enable this for the Shared Mailbox
  12. Done this plenty of times. There is a script from RM to remove RM Unify. Then, assuming you are talking about AADConnect, it will use soft match to match the OnPrem user to the Cloud account. It will not create a second account
  13. For AD Sync, look at https://support.google.com/a/answer/106368?hl=en
  14. You can sync AD to Google, which would do this.
  15. It wants a capital U and N to work https://www.lpportal.slc.co.uk/lppweb/login/enterUserName.jsf
  16. https://www.niallbrady.com/2016/02/03/how-can-i-add-new-windows-10-admx-files-to-the-group-policy-central-store-and-then-deploy-them/
  17. You don’t import admx files. You simple copy them into the PolicyDefinition folder and then they show in GPMC
  18. I’m also finding that if a user logs onto a Chromebook they have used before, and the data is not set to be removed on logoff, then the apps do not always appear. Specifically this is when the Play Store can not connect. We are playing with ports 5228-5230 on the firewall to see if this helps but is causing some problems.
  19. When we are deploying Android apps to Chromebooks it seems to install to the user account rather than device. Therefore if a new user logs in it has to download the apps again. Is this right?
  20. The Solus3 migration is hard apparently. What’s your experience of that part?
  21. Haven’t sorted yet. Support ticket went into support first thing this morning but not heard back yet
  22. I have a site struggling to run BBC Bitesize. It is not a filtering issue, the error states the content is not available in my location. Suggests they see the traffic coming from a different country? This is an example of a video we are trying to watch, although multiple ones do it https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zcvv4wx/articles/z9brcwx - the page loads and the preview of the video loads, but as soon as you press play you get the error. I cannot get onto a client device to fully test, but does this on the server which is completely unfiltered. I have tried a few different sites and they do work.
  23. Although I started this post, I still have positive things to say to our customers who use the Schools Broadband service. With the Fortinet and Netsweeper solution I feel we have a very good control over the whole network. We have had some Shared Lists created so can easily allow/deny sites for either individual or groups of schools very very quickly. The support at times could be quicker but today I had an issue with clients not using the correct group and turns out it was an incorrect client name on my part. Within minutes they fixed it and everything instantly worked as expected. Hopefully with the Netsweeper issue resolved the amount of support tickets will reduce and the team can concentrate on new tickets.
