Apart from the mega rich, you will end up in a situation where the majority happily walk in, see the demo and then buy online from amazon or whoever. Most people these days are savvy enough to do that A business that has all those over heads will need to put *very* significant margins on to the orders they place on your behalf as they will never get near the economies of scale to compete on price.

Im not 100% sure on this but I think it works like this: - All state schools get 5 Inset days to use a year - Schools have authority to decide the dates for Inset days, but are usually restricted to 5 in an an academic year. Very useful document. Whilst given the choice I would push for strong filtering on guest networks, the technical implications of trying to deploy SSL filtering on a guest network are significant. As long as the guest WiFi network is secured with appropriate temporary passwords I would judge the safeguarding risk of not having SSL filtering as being very small, especially as keyword filtering will still be able to block obvious search attempts. In theory students could get a discarded token but I am drawn in particular to this line of the guidance you linked: Whilst filtering and monitoring are an important part of the online safety picture for schools and collegesto consider, it is only one part. It varies slightly from MAT to MAT but the standard for High Value purchases is £40,000 at which point a tender is required If you do not run a tender for high value purchases you will need to have a very good, well documented reason

At the risk of going round in circles, just because a plan was sound for one academy does not mean it scales to 10 or 20 I appreciate you feel confident that your internal planning is sufficient to demonstrate good value, but where public money is concerned there has to be a transparent way of ensuring it is being spent fairly and in accordance with best practice.
