It's not just spelling their name it's the strength of the associated password. Being able to log on with a username and password is definitely something most students should be able to do by the end of the primary phase but that doesn't mean there isn't a place for QR code sign ins at the younger ages within the phase.

Have you tried using a partner such as Getech or C-Learning to help you - they won't charge for helping with this!
-
It does it both just as www.helldeskrules.com and helldeskrules.com

Doesn't MyLogin do QR code badges for sign in? We use Clever badges for this.

Yeah that's using https://www.helldeskrules.com

Three do have a portal but it's quite limited and only 1 person can have access! -
InTune N00b questions about Chromebook enrollment
Primus replied to LeMarchand's topic in Cloud Services
Whilst I believe you can put a Chromebook into InTune I don't believe you can push any settings etc - I think it's just for reporting and conditional access etc. You will need a management licence for each ChromeOS Flex device to manage it. You don't want to use kiosk mode for this at all, you need users logging into each device. You can use M365 SSO so that students log into ChromeOS with their Microsoft account - this can automatically sync over from Entra into Google. You can even integrate OneDrive into the files app. -
Mark Freeborough (MLL Telecom) FOIA request

We've had this, there may be some questions you can avoid answering but the majority will need an answer. We didn't answer section 6. -
Have you logged it with Google Support?
-
You've not got it shared with any accounts that are suspended do you?
-
We got that email on Saturday morning - very frustrating although it does say "or provide an update within 7 working days".

Chromebook googleworkspace management

Getech or C-Learning - best price I've seen recently is £24 per licence if you're buying a decent quantity - remember that's for the lifetime of the device not an annual cost but it did go up a few years ago. Looking at previous orders I think we were paying £16.50 per licence in 2016. -
Class Tools is out now and is fantastic, you can only see individual student Chromebooks and not thumbnails of them all but given the level of control it gives you and how easy it is to use I can see it being more than sufficient. Staff here already love it, everyone I've demonstrated it to goes away and tells others!

And to offer balance, IMHO Arbor is better...

I would expect the setting on protect against spoof of employee names to still take action when emails are sent to a group. Instead it would appear that since the group then becomes the owner/sender of the email internally it gets ignored, potential to be a problem is massive here. Feels like Groups is somewhat underdeveloped and unloved over the years.
-
Worryingly from my testing emails sent to a group where they spoof a display name don't get any banner applied to them so I'm curious as to whether they would go to quarantine - we use external facing groups for a variety of things.

eSignature is available to Google Workspace for Education but you need Education Plus to use it.

We saved money by switching MIS.
-
It doesn't work, you won't have success doing this.
-
The answer you maybe don't want? Move to a modern MIS that has it built in?
-
There is nothing reliable available.

Aruba 5406r ZL2 and 5412r ZL2 core switches depending on school size. Unifi edge switching - no dramas or issues over many years.

The issue is DfE dropping the ball and a school now being pretty much offline as 1Mbps is useless. Regardless of any deal or agreement between DfE and Starlink, DfE have dropped the ball and a school relying on their connectivity has been well and truly shafted. Either DfE get it back on in the interim or they deal with the negative publicity. This is a pretty good example of why trusting DfE on anything technical is fraught with danger.
