TS Gateway - Public IP needed for TS Clients?
powdarrmonkey replied to mb2k01's topic in Windows Server 2008 R2
As I understand it, you give the gateway server a public IP and it forwards requests into your private network. -
Moving from SQL 2005-2008 (required by SIMS b4 Oct 2010)
powdarrmonkey replied to Jobos's topic in MIS Systems
Can you make it clearer in your title that this only affects SIMS please? -
This explains a lot... maybe our tickets will get answers now!

How exactly do you come up with that one?

[closed] layout issue: Annoying Virgin Media Adverts
powdarrmonkey replied to crc-ict's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
It's now in the same position but on the second post of a thread here (I'll take a screenshot if you need it, but it's basically the same problem). -
[closed] layout issue: Annoying Virgin Media Adverts
powdarrmonkey replied to crc-ict's topic in EduGeek.net Site Problems
I don't have a problem with the adverts (have to make revenue somehow) but the layout in Chrome is a bit of an issue. Square advert right over the middle of the first post in a thread! -
Boy, was that a weird experience... I blame my upstream DNS

Would you like to help and show us your tech?
powdarrmonkey replied to Ric_'s topic in General EduGeek News/Announcements
Conversely, I keep coming across far too many people who claim to speak XML, but actually struggle with anything more than absolute basics. I think you could do well with this - a good grounding in how SIMS uses XML reports, the schemas and some examples of things you've found useful and any pitfalls you came across. -
Ye-es, in which case we cancel the close request because the user shouldn't be able to close it yet... Not so. We are cancelling the user's request to close it if the button is still disabled.
-
Ye-es... and then if this is the case, we cancel the pending close message. Otherwise there was some other reason for closing it (e.g. the machine is shutting down) and we just keep quiet and let it.
-
No, read the braced section of the if statement. The test is whether to cancel the close action or not, and you want to do this if either - the button was enabled and has been pressed - the form is being closed because the OS needs it to, not because the user asked for it to
-
||. You want the form to close on either condition.
-
This is the desired behaviour.

GPL requires any third-party distributed software that includes your code to release source; (three-clause) BSD does not. The FSF would like you to use GPL, because everybody benefits from the third-party source; BSD only requires that use of your source is acknowledged by derivatives so it's less restrictive.
-
Sorry, that should be || (logical or). I'd keep the brackets in though, if only to make it easier to read.
