The best you can do is make the appointment private and hide the details on the to-do bar. The appointment still shows up, but it's called "Private Appointment" and does not show details. Microsoft Outlook 2010 : To-Do Bar Improvements in Outlook 2010

The question made sense before the OP was edited.

They may be shiny, but if the little hole in the top gets too big and the bottle starts running out of vinegar before it should, you're not allowed to open the top and replace it.

Call PRS and ask them to discuss an MCPS License with you. Film music The license you need will depend on who represents the authors of the music you wish to use.

DNS Aliasing question
powdarrmonkey replied to Stuart_C's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
No. DNS can only work on hostnames; it's just a mechanism for turning them into IP addresses. You can't use it to redirect things at a high level, like web addresses. (besides this, when the browser sends your aliased hostname to Capita's server, it'll disclaim all knowledge about it in any case.) How about an url-shortening service with a custom alias? -
We're currently running a survey for parents at home (so no filtering in the way) and we've had a handful of reports of problems. Unhelpfully, most of them are just "it don't work", which doesn't narrow it down much, but it's probably fair to say it's not one ISP or machine causing the problems.

Neither DCs nor DHCP are heavy services, you could comfortably reduce your footprint by virtualising them in pairs (one metal server hosts a virtual DC and a virtual DHCP instance).
-
In general terms, the number of people saying "it works for me" is irritating. It's probably true to say that most of these are running DHCP under a highly privileged account, because that's what happens by default. Hence, "it works for me" is not necessarily a safe recommendation. If you already operate a healthy best practice/cost balance, I don't understand why you're so insulted. You should be proud to be in such a position. Meanwhile, there are many, many administrators who don't follow the parts of best practice that don't actually cost anything.
-
False.
-
Right, because changing the account that the service runs under to something unique is soooo costly.
-
Walking along a cliff edge 'works', but that doesn't mean it's safe or best practice.

GLPI Helpdesk - Anyone using it?
powdarrmonkey replied to reggiep's topic in Network and Classroom Management
I think DMcCoy uses it. -
8, from memory, and they include an on-screen display of characteristics and individual LED charging meters. Don't know if this is the same model, but it looks similar: Qcharger : Osborne Technologies Ltd
-
If they spool it and then relay it on to you, yes they should do. Of course, they may have configured it not to - you should probably check with them directly (ask about mail spooling and the maximum hold time before bouncing). 48 hours is a common maximum time but it does vary a lot.

StudyWiz looks like they're gone so where to next?
powdarrmonkey replied to HodgeHi's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
Well our deployment was originally set up to restart at 3AM, and as part of the startup it fetches this dictionary amongst other things. It's now configured to carry on if that fails, but yeh it was pretty crippling until they fixed it -
Ours were about £700, so sadly not cheap, but well worth the money for reducing hassle. We've even managed to get them self-managing
-
We have QChargers and they are fine. Just one thing I'd watch, the contacts are easier than Dell chargers to bend, because the batteries just sit on top really. That said, ours are holding up pretty well to user abuse.

get_iplayer will do this for you.
