  1. Formatted my backup partition when trying to nuke Windows It's ok, there's a backup backup
  2. Not if you're behind a NAT router, no.
  3. Who is 'we' and 'us' in this context?
  4. Hmm this comes up over and over again, and the problem is always momentum: to get decent feedback about what's working and what's not, you need a school that adopts it in a live environment. You'll find it hard work persuading anybody to take that kind of risk with their school system... On another note, I'd only be prepared to contribute if it's under a truly free license, not just publicly-viewable source. However, I can't promise any involvement at the moment.
  5. Vodafone are legally obliged to let you port it, even if you're not changing company (AFAIK) - give them a ring and see. Go direct, don't ask phones4u
  6. We did that yesterday. Groceries and stuff today
  7. [quote=TwoZeroAlpha;511315 cat /dev/urandom caution, although a cool trick, this can screw your terminal up something rotten. /dev/random is a standard feature of unixy kernels, it's not Debian specific.
  8. DNS tunnels are awesome DNStunnel.de - free DNS tunneling service
  9. If you have exchange 2003 onwards you already have anti-spam built in, probably just needs tuning.
  10. Disclaimer: as I said, that figure is entirely anecdotal. If you want a true quote give the licensers a ring and see.
  11. Well not really... I don't expect there are many everyday users who reduce the output power of their transmitters to only fill the room they're in, so your analogy is like screaming your head off through the open window, such that it can be heard three doors down the road. Or if you want to pursue the photography idea, it's like doing laps in a fixed radius of about twenty metres around your house, naked, and expecting people not to see you.
  12. As to that I can't say with certainty. MPLS represent about 350 independents, and for the major Hollywood and other studios you need PVSL or STSL (sorry, I misread my chart). They have a single title screening license and online applications, and a wide catalogue: Welcome To Filmbank
  13. What test are you going to perform on the line when you've finished?
  14. Try Vector Magic Precision Bitmap To Vector Conversion Online
  15. Depending on who represents the film publisher, you need an MPLC license or the correct PRS license. Anecdotal evidence suggests it will cost you about £100 a time, but the licensing houses will give you a proper idea.
  16. Wiki co-ordination, sadly empty: Conference2010 - Wiki
  17. Untrue. Wireless data travels far beyond the property boundaries so they haven't actually walked on your turf to start with. If you want an analogy, it's like communicating with the house over the road with very large flashcards, and then complaining when a passing car reads what you've written.
  18. They are surveying AP locations for use with assisted GPS. At least, this is the official reason.
  19. Snap, along with IDS. Scan my network and die
  20. Ooo pseudo-code *and* humour, that's a new one on me Are there some with just an embroidered logo in the corner?
  21. SimpleSi: please talk to your provider about number porting...
  22. Wordpress is nice and simple to get a quick, easy to maintain site published. It's quite a good introduction to CMSs before you step up to the big boys like Jooma and typo3. There's an extensive theme gallery: WordPress › Free WordPress Themes
  23. LNM hasn't been in active development or availability for some time, and is easily confused with "network managers who are learning" or similar. I propose to close it, or turn it into the latter and change its name.
