  1. I'd promote your contact block up to the right-hand column, too.
  2. It's pretty slick. Enabling output compression would be nice, you could take about 60% off index.php which is where the load time is greatest. In fact, does that need to be a .php page at all? It's quite latent, a static page would be a lot quicker.
  3. It's not just the forums, they are undertaking normal development tasks like toolchain maintenance, packaging, documentation, translation, etc... The Debian equivalent has been very successful at ensuring women in the project have a voice, but unfortunately for the Ubuntu effort they're rather undermined by this branding nonsense.
  4. On a standard Debian install it's in /usr/bin/traceroute which is a symlink to the alternatives system, so it should work for anybody.
  5. It's not a fork, it's just a development team...
  6. This sounds like the equivalent of the Debian Women group, aimed to get more women contributing (not necessarily using). They don't have patronising wallpaper AFAIK, though.
  7. So, he's really a 'name' in the US education IT industry, not the global education IT industry then. You can't only be known to one country (even if it is the US) and suddenly be a 'global name'...
  8. The Jump To Page function at the top of multi-page threads seems screwed. On this thread (18 pages) putting any value in the target page seems to go between page 17 and page 18 only, alternately. System: Chromium 5.0.375.99 (51029) Built on Debian unstable, running on Debian squeeze/sid
  9. oh and again, posting to this thread.
  10. Twice today I got double posts, nothing to do with RWQ - just a normal reply in the quick reply box at the bottom of the page. System: Chromium 5.0.375.99 (51029) Built on Debian unstable, running on Debian squeeze/sid edit: To clarify, it's not actually the same problem as Tom's - I misread. The reply is posted, but then immediately an error page states "You must wait up to thirty seconds between posts, try again later" or somesuch.
  11. PuTTY is not warning you of a certificate change, it's a public key change and you should take damn good notice when it happens. As for SSL, most browsers will not care. There is a plugin for Firefox that plugs (heh) this gap however, and it will care and warn the user.
  12. StartSSL are excellent. You verify you, not the site, for a yearly fee, and then you can issue unlimited certificates, either with alt-subject names or wildcards, through the lifetime of your subscription (when I signed up it was £20 to get the personal certification and then a further £20 to verify your organisation, in this case a school).
  13. Obviously, kit it out with James Bond Baddie stuff and turn it into a stunning datacentre: The world’s most super-designed data center
  14. Never heard of this 'name'.
  15. Can you take that discussion to a new thread please?
  16. We had one from the LNL Printers for Schools scheme and were so pleased with it we got six more. They do produce beautiful prints at high quality and in ordinary mode they are very fast. I don't have running costs to hand, my boss has them, but we did work out that we'd save significantly across the printers we were replacing (which was why we chose those seven).
  17. Sure, but I still don't want somebody unlocking accounts that I've locked for a reason, for example.
  18. Yes you can, but granting account operators gives other undesirable rights and complexity. This tool is designed to be foolproof (well, easy anyway).
  19. Something like: Dim strDN As String strDN = ""LDAP://cn=" & txtStuNum.Text & ", " & strContainer Debug.Print strDN Set objOU = GetObject(strDN)
  20. I had forgotten I'd even written this.... I will dig out the source some time and see what I can do for you.
  21. If a hard value succeeds, it still doesn't help you to pin down the error... you need to know what the string looks like after you've concatenated the parts, not whether your library calls can be trusted (which you have to assume is the case, otherwise libraries would be useless).
  22. I find MakeMSI much easier for this kind of thing. It's pseudo-code, which suits me fine, and more importantly free.
  23. No, look at the actual code, which is correct. You're quoting a quote, the whole of which is wrapped in quote marks - you know, like English should be. @TriggerHappyUK: build your distinguished name string in a variable first and dump it out just before the call to GetObject, so you can see exactly what it says.
  24. When you're subscribed to mailing lists with around 200 mails a day, and it goes quiet, yes!
