Finally got around to finishing S7 of Black Mirror. This was a huge improvement for me. I particularly liked "Hotel Reverie" and the "USS Callister" sequel.

Seems OK for me.

WOOHOO! Still interested in pricing, though. The free version doesn't allow you to tell it to update iOS en masse, amongst other things.

Anyone bought any licences for either of the above recently? If so, how much did you have to pay? School currently has 60 iPads on Mosyle free and want another 60. I'm assuming that they'll want paying as the current free limit is 30 - maybe we joined the gang when it was higher? Or does anyone have any recommendations? We could use Intune, but that has yet to be set up and every time I start to loo at it I get brain ache. Used to have Lightspeed but I found it very clunky.

Apart from the tech problems, I can't see the car manufacturers liking that idea. Also the subsidiary businesses: parts, repairs, accessories etc. What about families who need child seats etc? Interior cleanliness?

Desktops at work for me. At home, mainly a self-build desktop but also have a 17" Dell Inspiron that's mainly used to watch stuff in bed/remote play PS4 and a Surface Go 4 if I think I need may need something more useful than an Android tablet if away from the house for more than a few hours.

Finished Home For Christmas Season 3 and The Witcher Season 4 on Netflix. The last 2 eps of "Home" really bring the feels and things finally start to work out for Johanne. "Witcher" S4. I didn't really feel the loss of Henry Cavill, but the best ep was the one where Liam Hemsworth was absent (the battle against Vilgerfortz' army). I did feel that splitting the main 3 up for another season was a mistake.

Home for Christmas S3 on Netflix. As the lead character had fallen in love by the end of S2, a third season of the romcom means that she has to be single again so her younger man (who has grown his hair and no longer looks like he belongs in Nazi Youth brigade) turns out to want a family, which she doesn't. So Johanne is once again single at Christmas. It takes a while to set things up and the first few eps are only mildly amusing. Watched Ep 5 last night and it was laugh out loud funny. Mainly for an "encounter" between a Christmas ornament and a rat.

The People We Hate at the Wedding (Prime Video) Trailer NSFW Two American siblings and their mom go to the wedding of their estranged British half sister. Not sure why Amazon only just shoved this 2022 movie at us, but it was a fun watch.

Thank goodness I treated myself to a Steam Deck and noise cancelling headphones a while ago. The ability to escape from screaming kids (not mine, for anyone thinking I'm a derelict parent) has been well used this "break". Played Submerged quite a calm game of quite exploration in which you play a young girl navigating the ruins of a drowned city. I got it and its sequel for under a fiver, a price point they regularly hit.

Finished The War Between Land and Sea on iPlayer. Quite enjoyed it, though one character's beefed-up part immediately clued me into their fate. The final episode was a bit lacking, though. Plus I'm not convinced that Russell Tovey can act.

Two films about mums at Christmas. Goodbye June (Netflix) A messy family gather around their dying mother. Kate Winslet's directorial debut from a script by her son, which sounds like a recipe for disaster but turns out pretty well. One to admire more than enjoy, though. Oh. What. Fun. (Prime Video) Michelle Pfeiffer's unappreciated mum decides she's had enough. Not as comedic as the trailer suggests. Kinda OK, but feels like it needed a couple more passes at the script to punch up the gags. Not sure why Michelle P put on an accent, but it was a bit distracting.

The Naked Gun (2025) Standard rental most places Not as riotously funny as the earlier movies, but fairly decent. We thought we had a free rental via O2/Blue Monday and chose this only to discover that the allowed rentals are very limited. Didn't regret the £5 but wouldn't rave about it. Guns Up (Prime Video) Kevin James plays a cop who decides to start working for the mob to provide for his family until they can buy their own diner. When that time comes the new boss doesn't want to let him go and so gunplay ensues. Not as light-hearted as the trailer makes out but an OK 90 minutes.

Dash & Lily (Netflix) 2020 Xmas-themed romcom series. Not sure why Netflix took so long to flag this as we both watch romcoms and Mme LeMarchand watches loads of the Xmas ones. We weren't wowed by the trailer which looked too teeny, but both ended up loving the show. Well worth a look if this sort of thing is up your alley.

A Very Jonas Christmas Movie (Disney+) My knowledge of the brothers is that they are a pop band and one of them is married to Priyanka Chopra but the trailer looked amusing. I guess I should have realised it was going to be, but the trailer disguises this is a full on musical. Let's just say I'm not adding any of the brothers songs to my Spotify! This features loads of the brothers' families (plus Will Ferrell and his family) and Chloe Bennet from S.H.I.E.L.D. Tolerably amusing. Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari (Netflix) aka सन्नी संस्कारी की तुलसी कुमारी aka Sunny Sanskari's Tulsi Kumari Sunny has planned an elaborate proposal that sees him getting dumped by Ananya (Sanya Malhotra from Jawan) for Vikram. Tulsi has been with Vikram for years, but is dumped in favour of Ananya, so Sunny and Tulsi decided to crash Vikram and Ananya's wedding to get their true loves back. As I'm not overly familiar with Indian Romcoms I wasn't sure that this would follow the traditional template which made the ending a surprise rollercoaster. Quite fun, though you probably need a passing familiarity with Indian movies/stars to get some of the jokes. BTW, we think we're underpaid: 50k rupees/month is around £400 so Tulsi's teacher's salary at what appears to be a large prestigious school is around £200.

The Blu-ray was on HKUD yesterday and I wondered what had happened to him since playing Buck. I loved the first season of that show!

From my other school that needed the same job doing: Step 2: The DNS addresses are for the domain DNS server/s (possibly th same one you're setting things on) and not any ISP mandated forwarder. Oops! Also, some devices may well have their IP addresses set manually and not via DHCP. You'll need to deal with these individually.

This thread kept popping up on Google last night when I was searching for a solution, so I thought I'd update with what cured it. As @psydii said above, pre-shorten the leases Set the TCP/IP properties on the DHCP server manually My biggest error: Set the scope options! You will probably have to edit options 003, 006 and 066 (if you use PXE boot). In my case I had to create 003. After that it was fairly plain sailing.

Troll 2 (Netflix) Now cast out from the scientific community after the events of the first film, Nora is living off the grid doing her own research. However the miltary need her help with a secret they have been hiding since before WW"... Fun sequel to the original and well worth a look if you enjoyed that one. It's less "Godzilla with Trolls" than the trailer suggests. Frankenstein (Netflix) Guillermo del Toro's version adds daddy and some rather creepy mummy issues into the mix but is a handsomely mounted production. I admired rather than loved it.

What are people doing about these?

We swapped ISP/filter last night so, of course, this led to "The iPads can't get on the internet!" this morning. I asked what they were trying to do and then the address of the site they were trying to access to be told, "I don't know, we just Google it but when we click the site it says something about 500". So you used the internet to find a site but the internet isn't working?

Not sure how a based-on-a-true-story Indian disaster movie fits in with the rest of that selection.

I knew there was something I did last time that I didn't this! That could be it. Changes are mandated by the ISP. I'm guessing that they already have customers on the ranges two of my schools use but not on my 255.255.254.0 school. The leases are quite short, but I'll make them even shorter now and then again before it all (hopefully) goes live.

Good question that I don't know the answer too. I think the problem is before we even get to the router, though. Nothing seemed to be picking up the new IP addresses after the switch, which surely isn't reliant on the router as both DHCP and DNS are on a local server?
