  1. Hi, I need a few quotes for 42 PC's to be used in ICT classrooms. I only need the PC's (no monitor, keyboard or mouse). I would like a minimum of 3 years warranty, core 2 duo processor, 2 GB RAM etc etc. They won't be running photoshop etc, but they will be needed for basic video editing and the usual ICT stuff. I don't want to pay more than £300 per unit, so any offers would be hugely appreciated.
  2. Hi, I used to have an access query which changed the SIMS year list extract into a form which I could upload into active directory. I need an access query which will do the following currently the export looks like "John Smith" What I want is the field to look like "09SmithJ" I know this is simple, but it's bugging me. Many thanks

    Strange

The original connect.ini just pointed to sims on a share of the s drive. The new connect.ini is as follows: [sIMSConnection] ServerName=servername\sims2005 DatabaseName=SIMS ServerType=SIMSSQL Thanks

    Strange

Just loaded sims on to another server as our old server has a hardware fault. Logons were fine until I switched the old server off. Now the logon box takes 75 seconds to appear and then a further 75 seconds once you have put your details in. If I boot the old server back up, logon times are quick, what have I missed out. I have remapped everyones drive to the new server etc! Many thanks

  14. I am trying a myriad of clients for my new Xenapp farm. I have a few terminals but I really want to use my old PC's. I don't like the configuration of Thinstation. I remember years ago, loading Lan manager, Dos and a Citrix ICA client. And I would like to replicate this to see how it gets on nowadays. Basically, what I'm after is a ICA client to put onto my PC's to act as dumb terminals. I am open to any suggestions you may have. Many thanks
  15. Anyone know whwre I can download Lan Manager 2.2 for DOS. Many thanks
  16. Anyone know the easiest way of installing media player on server 2008 (X64) Many thanks
  17. I am looking at converting PC's for our new Xenapp servers. There seem to be different clients available for performing this job. IOs there any issues using a DOS based 32-bit Citrix cleint with Xenapp. Are there any other clients which are better (excluding thinstation) which I don't have to pay for. Many thanks
  18. Our admin server decides to shut itself down every evening at around 7:30pm, about half an hour before the backup starts. This has been happening for 4 days now and every morning the logon wants to know the reason for the abrupt shutdown. The logs do not say anything at all. Anybody have any ideas? Many thanks
  19. I'm looking at converting some PC's to run as Citrix terminals. Are there any alternatives to 'thinstation' I should be looking at, as we find thinstation a little fiddly! Many thanks
  20. I don't want to use our supplied RBC supplied Sophos on to our new blades running Citrix. Anyone recommend a good antivrus to put on these blades that won't interfere too much? Many thanks

    CTRL+ALT+DEL

Just found the answer. The little darling(s) had pulled off three buttons from a Genius keyboard (Power, Sleep, Wake) and pushed one of the receivers (if that's what you call them) ever so slightly in the corner. Hence the re-boot. Many thanks for the replies!
  22. Hi, we are installing Citrix Xenapp and wondering if anyone had a script to map printers upon logon, based on device name. I am not a VB whizz, so any explanation would be a great help!. Many thanks
