What's the oldest bit of kit you still have running?
Dos_Box replied to PrimaryTech's topic in General Chat
How large (file size) is the pic?. Try reducing it in size if possible. If that doesn't work then let me know and I'll have @ZeroHour take a look for you. -
Funny you should mention that. My recliner provides me with the perfect position and I have had quite a few good sleeps in there, but have to take myself off to my bed at some point!

From what I can gather, you really know when thay are broken as apparently you can 'feel' it. I have a lot of hurt, but nothing that is similar to descriptions of others who have broken ribs before. I don't even have brusing on the outside, which is kinda annoying as I like to have proof of the hurty

Yep, I'd read this too. I can't walk and talk as it is, so strapping it up isn't really an option. I had a motorcycle accident many (many) years ago and broke lots of toes and fingers on my right hand side. They couldn't strap the toes as they can't set properly. Several weeks walking around on broken toes was pure hell! I'd also bent my thumb right back. Resetting that was an experience, I can tell you!

I disagree. It's The Riddler, and he's up to something!

Very helpful, thank you Coughing and sneezing are very painful. As it is, currenty I can't walk and talk as you tend to draw in shaper breaths when talking, which isn't vey pleasant at all atm.

Took my son to see this at the IMAX at the Trafford Centre It was the second to last showing on IMAX there and was fully booked (apparently they all were). Glad I'd booked my tickets some time before! I really enjoyed it, and having seen films and TV series about the bombs development felt that it barely scratched the surface of what went on at Los Alamos at the time. The film isn't about the bomb, but the man himself. It just uses the background of the bombs development for the story. I will say one thing though, it certainly didn't feel like a three hour film! The cast were great and it did take me a few mins to realise I was watching Robert Downey Jr as Strauss. He really is talented given the right role!

The long and short of it is that I cam off my bike last week quite badly. Two cyclists coming the other way on a cyclepath side-by-side forced me into the side of the path where there was mud and I lost it. Took a couple of inches of skin off my right knee and baged my right elbow badly. I also got a handlebar to the ribs* I thought I'd possibly broken one or two, but from my symptoms it does now look like I have just bruised them. Sleeping is very hard as I have to sleep on my back (not my preferred position) and any movement is very painful. I've found myself sleeping until late morning due to disrupted sleep. I'm usually an early starter too! I can't even walk and talk. In fact, talking is quite difficult as I can't take rapid breaths due to the pain. I have plenty of painkillers, but they don't really seem to do very much, so I need to ask the combined minds of EduGeek of any tips you might have to see me through until the pain subsides. I know this is going to be at least a couple of weeks yet, but any advice is very welcome. *The bike is fine BTW!

Watched the first two, and not disappointed so far

Very sad and, as @elsiegee40 said, taken much too young. Nothing Compares 2 U is one of those songs that stays in my head due to where\what I was doing at the time.

Don't! I had a flashback of a cupboard shelf with 150 Win 98se and about 100 Win 95 CD's on there. Windows 2000 and 'proper' licencing was a relief! I do recall my predecessor had also kept a huge amount of RM manuals (all identical) too. I had a big clear out of the office in my first summer at that school.

Thread title edited to show the question the OP has. Can you all please ensure any threads you create have titles that reflect the problem the poster needs help with. Have had to edit a few one-word thread titles this past few days.

Come on. Who here still has some IDE and floppy cables knocking around 'just in case'! Bonus points for SCSI cables

The Wildlife (and Gardening for Wildlife) thread

Oooh, not seen one of those before. I doubt we get them up here though (unless they invest in technical fabrics), from the posts I could find about it, it's quite uncommon, so you are very lucky. -
Thread title edited to make more relevent.

If we get chance, I'll make sure we mention this to them as somethign to consider for BETT 24 as this has proved very popular with members over the years.

AliExpress, anyone else having problems logging in?
Dos_Box replied to Dos_Box's topic in General Chat
It just let me in too. Finikky thing that it is! -
If you get a bike, it'll help greatly with the first two. You really do get good excersise on them which helps build up your fitness. When I started riding again about 14 years back there were a lot of hills on my route to and from work and you do end up pushing it up some of them, but as your fitness builds you will find that most hills get easier and easier. I had one (quite, quite steep) that I had to get off and push the rest of the way up for several weeks, but each day I pushed myself to make it just that little bit further, and after a month or so could do it without getting off. Yes, it was still hard work, but well worth it. My route was almost all downhill on the way in and uphill back with the occasional up and down in-between 155ft (47m) between home and work over 4 miles. And no, I don't own any Lycra

I buy the occasional thing from them every now and again, but since yesterday I've had problems logging in (even reset my password). On the times it actually gives me a logon box, I can enter my details and press return just to have the logon box do nothing. This seems to be a problem with them rather than at my end and have tried several browsers with no joy. Can any of you check it's just not me to put my mind at rest?

What a start to the hilodays here in Preston yesterday, almost 24 hours of rain! Thnakfully only some localised flooding in dips in roads and my garden, whilst a pond yesterday, is walkable on without it squishing!

I wish I knew that before I went for a look in May! I'll have to remember to include that in the visiting instructions. -

Article: EduGeek EDIT Conference - Coming to Leeds this October!
Dos_Box replied to Dos_Box's topic in Legacy CMS Comments
Covid (which we got after last years BETT), and covid restrictions still in place in a lot of venues last year prevented us from holding one. With BETT in March, and our conf usually in May, meant we have to hold it in October, but we are very happy to have the ball rolling with this now and we are quite looking forwards to seeing you all again. The Royal Armouries is a great venue, very central for transport links, and a short 10-15 min walk from the train station if you are not coming by car (I know this because I walked it when I went to meet their hospitaility staff for a look around the facilities). Next year we should be back to a May conf once BETT returns to its January slot.
