Fans lament as Nestlé axes Caramac bar after 64 years

I don't like that Quality Street has gone to those horrible wrappers now. Kinda takes the fun out of them. And you have to guess what is in each one! -

Coffee Cremes? I take it you were not elbowing people out of the way to grab your share? -
I do recall reading some time ago that Microsoft will be allowing third party PCIe storage expansion cards in the future, but to date I haven't seen any.

The actual day is almost here, but with many high street and online retailers now running offers, I thought it time we got the usual thread up, just so we don't dip out on any deals that may sell out by next Friday. As per usual, please provide the link to the product (not a link to a link) in your post, and where possible, use a proce tracking site\browser extension like CamelCamelCamel to confirm it's an actual deal and not just a price drop from a hiked price. Oh, and I'm still after a decent micro-atx B550 motherboard. Prime Day was a bit of a disappointment with Scan selling stuff cheaper! And I'm also in the market for a new washing machine

Just seen this and 'Nooooo!'. I used to love Caramac, but not had it since I was a kid. Must try and track some down before it's to late. -
@ZeroHour has some very nice pics of the aurora from his home in Shetland!

I'm going to say something that might be very unpopular in a moment. I took my 17 year old son to a Mad Max double bill on Saturday (1 + 2) as he's never seen them, and I certainly haven't seen the first film since the 80's! And...well...I have to admit, the first Mad Max film is shockingly bad. The dialogue is just weird and stunted, the music sounds like it was lifted from another film* and the big bike gang at the beginning goes from about 30 bikers to 5 for the rest of the film. Oh, and it has non-existant world building. Yes, it's a 70's film, and yes, it was low budget, but how on earth did it become so popular? Oh, and the credits look like they were done on Notepad. *It was composed by Brian May. Sadly not that Brian May.

This is a new one to me - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-67331747 But given I'm in the wrong part of the country and it's been thick cloud and rain all weekend, there would have been no chance here in Lancashire. Did any of you get to see it?

I had to look it up!

I still have the words 'It's not syncing, can you take a look?' stored at the back of my brain. I had a Palm Tungsten, and that was pretty bad at syncing too.

Since I got my car last year I had (up until recently) thought this clip at the bottom of the screen pillar was routing for a dashcam cable. Nope, it's a rather handy holder for car park tickets!

Before Android and iOS, Windows CE and Windows for Mobile were (some of) the bane of my life. I still shudder at the thought of trying to use a very badly designed GUI on a tiny screen!

I have Plex, amongst other things running on mine, although I think I do need to strip it down and repaste the cpu, the fan is running a little noisy. Not done it in years, so will need doing!

I have one of those at home and they are really good (a shame HP turned its replacement into a horrid VM based device). *For a potential buyer - You can whack in a Xeon E3-1265L V2, which you can get off eBay for not many pennies, to make it even more capable.

Hi Tom, not long back home. We shall be putting them all up together once we have all the PPT's in, as some speakers had to remove some slides and other info for a variety of reasons. Hopefully we'll have this done by Friday as @ZeroHour has a very long travel today and won't be home until bedtime! -
Anyone out there in Leeds? It took quite some time to setup, so we were running a little late. Just at the hotel now and almost ready to play. We just need to know where the cool kids are playing [emoji1]

Hi Mel, You can still attend, just turn up tomorrow and you can get your ticket via the rather wonderful registration kiosk that EntrySign have provided for the conf -
I'm not sure yet, probably best people sort yourself out for food as we may, or may not, be delayed and I may have some work to do once we get to the hotel, so I don't want to commit to a time yet. I will need a beer by 8pm though!

Hi all, with the clock really ticking down to EDIT 23 now, we just want to find out what time those arriving tomorrow night are to be getting into Leeds and if you'd like to meet up later (and why wouldn't you!)? Oh, and where! We will be in Leeds from about 4pm, but have unloading and other jobs to do first, but would an 8pm (or poss earlier if we can get our work cleared) meet-up work for most (venue TBD). I'll see about getting a group setup on Discord to allow us to let everyone keep in touch as to where each other is.
