The conf mugs have arrived (all attendees will receive one)

Very sad news. I think the first time I heard him was after the Daley Thompson Lucozade ad which had Maiden's Phantom Of The Opera as the music. Ah, here it is

With just a week to go I thought it time we had a thread to keep you informed about the activities taking place on the day, and getting together on the Tuesday\Wednesday night. We are still sorting out Wednesday evening (post-conf social) and we have a sponsor hopefully lined up for that in the next day or so, but the Tuesday evening will be a much more casual affair and we all tend to arrange a bar to meet in (there is a 'spoons just down from the Premier Inn most of us are staying in). I can also let you know that there will be a competition where some of you can win a sit in a genuine Spitfire cursesy of one of our exhibitors\speakers. Again, watch this space! Given the variety of speakers we have, it really does promise to give everyone attending a huge raft of useful information from some of the EdTech industries leading suppliers. if you want a ticket, then we only have a couple left (really, just two!), and you can get them here.

Got it for my daughter for Xmas the other year. I couldn't put it down as the artwork was just wonderful.

All gone away now with a healthy application of Spam-B-Gone.

Moving to the MIS forum.

I'll bet you pronounce 'scone' incorrectly too

Well, I'm sold! And I've been toying with the idea of getting a tin of all day breakfast. Not had one since I went camping a very long time ago. I want to ensure they are still as awful as I remember when accompanied with toast and brown sauce.

I see your Jag and raise you a Land Rover Discovery MKII. Had it 2 years and in that time it had new suspension airbags, a new suspension air compressor, a new front rad, new (recon gearbox), new front prop, new (recon) cylinder head, a new rear suspension bracket and I'm sure I've missed some stuff out. I took it out and buried it at a crossroads at midnight.

It was flagged up by me to @ZeroHour a few days back, he suspects it may be a browser plugin.

I've had to close the windows!

In case you missed it, we now have the full speaker and exhibitor line-up above Tickets are still available (link in article) and there will be a raffle for 5 of you to win the chance to sit in a real Spitfire after the conference!

Brian Blessed would get my vote too, closely followed by Alan Partridge.

We are to get the speakers article up next week giving you details of the talks you can expect on the day, and just to wet your whistles, this is what we are to see from Micrsoft and the EXA Foundation: Microsoft: Leveraging Microsoft 365 Copilot for Innovation in Education We will explore the transformative potential of Microsoft 365 Copilot in the education sector. Microsoft 365 Copilot is an AI-powered assistant designed to enhance productivity and foster innovation across various educational domains. By integrating Copilot in its various versions into Teaching & Learning, and operational processes, educational institutions can streamline workflows, improve efficiency, and create best practices. The EXA Foundation: Explore potential beyond the Raspberry Pi as a classroom resource, uncovering its potential in non-teaching applications within schools. From digital signage to network monitoring, Alan will showcase practical, cost-effective solutions using Raspberry Pi to enhance your school's infrastructure. He’ll also share how you can leverage redundant technologies to inspire and recruit the next generation of tech support professionals. Finally, Alan (O'Donohoe) will demonstrate engaging cybersecurity activities that can be easily adapted to strengthen both security and student engagement in your school.

I'm very much looking forward to this tomorrow, is anyone else going? - https://www.playexpoblackpool.com/ I think I've managed to make it each year since it started and (some of you may have seen the rough design a bit back) just picked up my t-shirt for the event What I have noticed though, over the years is a reduction on a lot of very old systems to play with as they must be either failing or the owners can take the risk of them breaking anymore!

Moving to ICT Policies forum.

One thing I found whilst looking for a solution, is that the 'strip' type readers can fail is because a coating over the lens wears off and gives false results. Mine however, is built into the power button and is flat, without a lens. it's all very puzzling.

I wonder what the weight of those vouchers would be per PC?

Moving to the correct forum.

Here's a handy little app I've come across, BlueScreenView. This will analyse your dump files and tell you (almost) extactly what happened - https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html Handy for those times when you can't just flatten a device to sort it out. It only shows as working with up to Windows 10 though, so not sure if it's been tested on 11.

Is that the driver crashing too? Some of the solutions I've seen are to set the power options on it to prevent Windows turning it off, but that never seemed to work for me.
