Very sad new indeed, Hackman was an acting legend, and if i had to pick my favorite film of his, I'd choose Crimson Tide.

[AI] Every UK national newspaper prints identical front page

And doesn't get to the point until half way down the page, just so they can ram in a few ad spaces in between for the online based articles. -
Virgin Media/Azure outage
Dos_Box replied to ASA-Simon's topic in Internet Related/Filtering/Firewall
I'm on Virgin at home and 365 has been very slow to load things like Outlook and other 365 programs this morning, and is still playing up. -

A big congratulations to Stephen Pink from Tomlinscote School on winning the rather nice video game cabinate we had up for raffle at BETT for his school. We hope you all get a lot of fun out of it

In the interests of fairness, I also belive that Millgate and Wave9 also offer site surveys.

Try giving Net-Ctrl a ring. Many here have had them do a survey for them in the past.

The Tank Museum would be epic, but it is out on a limb for some. I've been to Bovington many, many times in a past life and would make for an epic venue. I'll reach out to them.

We did enquire to Beltchley last year, but it was very expensive IIRC, will have to take a look at my emails to\from them.

I'm just starting to look at venues for our EDIT 2025 Conference and need your help. Currently we are looking at locations in the Midlands and North. If you have ever been to an EDIT Conference before, you know that we do like to host them in interesting places and if you an idea as to what would make a great location for this, then please let me know and I'll add it to the list. The conf is intended to go back to it's orginal slot, the end of May school holidays for the first time since lockdown. Please note that vnues should ideally have good road and rail links to allow members to get to the event as easily as possible. Currently I have the National Motorcycle Museum (Birmingham NEC) and the National Video Game Museum (Sheffield) and the National Railyway Museum at York on my shortlist. If you know of any venues near you that would fit the bill, then please feel free to suggest them here

I enjoyed the first film, I hope they don't go down the Chucky route.

Currently loving the new season of Severence, it deliveres answers and new questions in spades, gripping stuff, I also finished Wolf Hall, which I thought was excellent. But one I'm currently semi-binging is Loudermilk, where Ron Livingston plays Sam Loudermilk, a burnt out former music journalist who heads up an addicts support group. It's got a great dry sense of humour, and never belittles the addiction side of the story.

That's OK Garaeth, I had to go and 'do the rounds' visting other stands. We'd usually do this on Thirsday, but the storm meant that some of us had to sort out travel arrangements and flights etc. We were not the only ones either. With trains getting cancelled other stands who's companies were based in the north all had to take measures. Smoothwall had to hire minibusses to get their guys back as their trains were scrubbed.

I'll agree with Dave here (and thanks for hosting us once more!) about attendance as it certainly was a lot busier than any show since it re-opened, but is now missing 'something. Actually several 'somethings'. A lot of this is down to the show changing hands several times since we first started doing them in 2007, and a lot of that is down to the organisers losing what is known as 'Instituational Knowlege'. I'm going to be doing a piece on this soon, and after speaking to more than a few old hands at the show this time around I think it may do well to shine a light on what made the BETT show what it was and what they have lost over the years to get us to where we are today. BETT used to have a soul, a vibe and a sense of fun, but in the past 10 years+ it has been slowly losing it year on year. Shows are not just about products, and even the exhibitors will tell you that. It needs to get it back I feel.

This won't be much help, but a very long time ago there was a company who got in touch who specialised in scanning and doing OCR on the fly (back when schools were just beginning to move from paper to digital records), so there should still be some out there still.
