Well in that case you are at an advantage being on 2.0 because there is a lot more you can do to customise standard themes from inside Moodle than you could with 1.9

Agree with Marci about how schools develop their own themes. Also -not all schools can as not all schools have ftp access to their Moodle.

Hi there. Well first question -which version of Moodle are you using? If it is 2.0 then you can set up a built in drop down menu with certain themes (and there are lots of nice customisable ones in 2.0 ) by going to site admin>appearance>themes>theme settings and scrolling down to custom menu. Some of the themes also have their own page of settings that you will see when you go there and you can upload your own logo instead of theirs. With 1.9 it is not the same -there are themes you can download from moodle.org for 1.9 that offer dropdown menus already -there is also some documentation on making or adapting themes for 1.9 here Themes - MoodleDocs (If you use the standard logo theme by the way then you can upload into front page>site files a banner/logo of your own choice and as long as it is named logo.gif then it will replace the default one. But that is a pretty basic theme. If you want to replace the logo/banner of another theme you will have to upload your new image to the relevant folder of the relevant theme in the themes directory on the server -take a look at the documentation in that case.

mp3s don't have to be downloaded - in future, if you ensure your multimedia filters are enabled and then insert the mp3 as a hyperlink it will play inline in a player (same for wmv/flv movies) Can't help with Word docs though.

If you have quick grading switched on then you see all the pupils on the same screen so that might be an improvement navigationally?

Not that I am aware of off hand - maybe they are expecting you to move forward in your marking and not backwards

There is currently an entry in the Moodle tracker about Articulate SCORM packages and 2.0.2 [#MDL-26666] Moodle 2.0.2 Scorm module running a sCORM 1.2 package from Articulate - some pages do not load (intermittent fault) - Moodle Tracker Might this apply to you?

In terms of modules not yet supported, you'd probably be better off listing modules that ARE supported - or are in the process of being updated - as the majority of contributed modules do not work in Moodle 2.0 There is a tracker entry showing which contributed modules are updated and progress on others but I haven't got the URL to hand.

Two questions in one there really - first -it's going to be difficult to get all your students automatically enrolled in all courses in Moodle 2.0 as one of the things it has achieved is to try to prevent that - too many establishment were getting confused because all their students appeared in all courses even when they didn't study that subject. I could probably suggest ways -you could just give guest access to your courses for example -but long term it would be annoying both to the students in that they would have a long list of courses and to the teachers once they start using the moodle mark book -they'd have a load of year 7s in their GCSE Maths class for example. Second one - the repository ajax php download attempt -this isn't your problem but Moodle's - it was a known bug in earlier versions of 2.0 and it was thought to be fixed -but it came back! Tracker entry here [#MDL-25895] repository_ajax.php tries to download to the browser - Moodle Tracker There's a patch I think but the issue is currently marked as "unresolved"

Hi there. Uniservity to Moodle sounds a good move to me. Just wanted to reiterate what previous poster said - the CLEO MIS upload tool doesn't yet work with Moodle 2.0 and in many respects Moodle 2.0 isn't ready for production sites - you will have much more success (and be much less stressed out!) by using 1.9.10. There are incidentally other SIMS to Moodle options going around, though they are paid for iirc

Moodle 1.9 themes don't work in Moodle 2.0 - end of. If you've upgraded you should be set with the "standard" theme as any customised ones you have on your Moodle will need upgrading to 2.0 before they will display properly.

gives a single portal for anyone to find anything on the site, that in itself has massively helped with the takeup of Moodle as people don't see it as a separate system anymore. Very valid point for those considering combining website with VLE.

@SimpleSi - what bugs me is the banner isn't centred - two minute job if you can get to the code - I presume we could ask for it to be centred but I don't know if we'd have to pay, and SLT don't seem to have a problem with it - so it currently stays as it is. With having different courses acting as different "pages" then yes, different people can manage it. It might not be slick and flashy, but it is a community effort.

@demsley - the book is in a course that is guest access.so I just hyperlink to the relevant page in the book in that course.
