just me - we did an experiment the other eve - handful of us agreed to go on together - I couldn't; they could. I have tried with SimpleSi's site - worked fine on his - went back to ours - no joy.. can get it , but when I try to upload it just freezes on me

will have a go now - was wondering if it was that CLEO don't like me (!) Have my own Moodle but hosted elsewhere and never had any probs.

Hi there. Was wondering if you network managers/tech people could shed any light or offer any suggestions on my most frustrating problem: I have Admin rights for my school's Moodle site, hosted with CLEO. Over the Christmas hols I had huge difficulties getting onto it at home - it wouldn't load up; images were missing; it wouldn't let me edit/upload etc. Assumed it was the same for everyone but on returning found it's just me! At school all week I've been able to access it fine - come home, and huge problems again. FF is a tiny bit better than IE but not much. I'm on BT Broadband, no problem with speed and any other sites at all - any suggestions? I've refreshed, cleared out cookies, tried it as a 'trusted site - everything I can think of..no joy. I have heard, apparently, that some pupils have occasionally had the same issue - can't get on it whatever they try - but that doesn't really help! Tried just now - can log on but can't upload.Sometimes I can't even turn on editing.All suggestions welcomed

Hi there Poltaswki! Nice to locate a real CLEO person! We are mainly happy with CLEO I have to say but despite your reassurance there have been real problems accessing our Moodle in the last week or so - sometimes it just takes forever to load, then times out -sometimes you can get the front page but nothing else; sometimes I can get as far as logging in and it won't let me edit - sometimes it lets me go to edit but I can't upload anything. In fact, I have only managed to get on it to alter the front page a couple of times since we broke up and even then I had to upload images and resources to one of my own sites instead,and link to them..so there IS a problem, albeit spasmodically. I have been checking it every hour or so for over a week - yes, I know, I'm sad! (I've been told to keep a log of issues over the holiday)

Sometimes it's useful to make up a pupil (student) login and then you can test stuff out with them , like enrolling on courses, doing quizzes and seeing how scores are recorded in the gradebook etc.

Simple Si - sorry if you have tried this - but - when you are in admin yourself, go to Front Page>Front |Page roles > and then click on admin and make mge admin - then he should get admin rights to the front page if that;'s what you're talking about

hello mighty eagle and Edu_IT- merry Christmas to all - I am 'sad' too! Can't even get on ours today, thanks CLEO, so you were lucky even to have the annoyance of scrolling down to the login. (It was a deliberate decision apparently, to force people to view all the stuff first)

Hi there - I think you need log in as Admin then go to Front Page> Front Page Settings> Front Page description (summary ) and type something in there. And , as has been said, tick the include a topic section box lower down. Our is below -except CLEO seems to be on holiday over Christmas so it's virtually impossible to access... http://vle.olchs.lancs.sch.uk/
