upload images anywhere else in your Moodle? Just to check it's not a slash arguments issue or something. Have you tried in different browsers? Well FF as well as IE; (Opera and chrome won't work) I am presuming you have your front page settings set to show topic section and that is where you are trying to upload the image to?

Sharepoint / Moodle advice needed
secretlife replied to pooley's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
We use Moodle - it happens to be offered by our broaband suppliers - it suffices for most of our needs; use its calendar as school diary and there's a hyperlink to OWA for ease of access to emaiil. -
So that's what you look like monkeyx Ours is due for an imminent radical revamp (when its administator gets time)

You can do all that in Moodle's gradebook though to be honest it is a complex beast.

Would any VLE suite our needs? letters home

Look at the 'online text' assignment. You could use the Moodle forum but then their answers would be publicly viewable. But if you're only needing them to say they received it (not write a reply in depth) then a Choice instance would work as all they'd need to do was hit the button. (Particularly if you are thinking re parental competence in ICT) -
Is it? Will go check that thanks.

Lots of issues regarding Blackboard into Moodle - you might like to have a look on the Moodle dot org forums typing in your error message http://moodle.org/mod/forum/search.php?search=XSLT+library+blackboard+moodle&id=5

anyone know when the Lgfl email and Moodles are due to come back? I have a vague memory of them saying they'd be off around the 24th (yesterday) but cannot recall for how long ... thanks!

Question please for all you network managers and Moodle experts: How easy would it be for someone competent in ICT and the ftp process to install a Moodle? I run several websites, have installed wordpress blogs and 'Singapore' opensource galleries myself - and have upgraded them - no issues there -but the only Moodles I have dealt with have been either done for me by my webhosts or pre-installed by CLEO. Iwant to install a Moodle 1.9 in a subdirectory of one of my sites so I can be prepared for when CLEO upgrade our school one which I am admin in. I want to do it myself because....well, I want to know how to do it myself! It says on moodle dot org it can be done in minutes and I have briefly glanced at the bullet points - seems manageable - will I be able to do it? Thanks

I would like to know too! What sort of stuff are you producing with it? And do teachers rate it?

Doesn't surprise me in the least!

do you mean the year 5s were meant to generate their own quizzes using hotpotatoes? Not impossible but would involve a fair bit of help I'd have thought - maybe they must mean , as you've done, use files already made by you? Also - depends what they mean by 'explore' - if they just mean simply clicking on the potatoes and working out that it's a program for making matchups/quizzes/gapfills etc - they might be able to achieve that, but as for making one of their own - no; I wouldn't have thought so.
-
is it the case that all schools who use hopotatoes within their moodle will have bought a licence? (don't know - just asking)

why can't I access Moodle properly from home?
secretlife replied to secretlife's topic in Virtual Learning Platforms
logging myself in with a different username/password .... logging in on three different pcs/laptops - I haven't tried using a different pc in someone else's house - sort of embarrasssed to ask my neighbour that ! I also tried logmein at school today but it said my pc at home was either offline (which it never is) or else logmein was disabled on the computer I was using at school (might that be the case? Never had time to ask) -
and you don't have to put them online - you can use them on an IWB - what they mean is - if you put them on a site you mustn't charge for people to access them. However, you can put them on a VLE which is password protected even though that is not 'freely' available because it is educational not business. Great piece of software.
