So if moving it varies it then either the wires are lose in the cable or maybe your near something radiating RF or magnetic. Sounds like a duff (faulty) lead. Marc Projector Engineer

Sounds like lamp could it have been turned off with out cooling its a sure killer on this model. Replacement projectors are a no no on this way too expencive even if you can find one. Marc Projector Engineer

You could first try a couple of the clip on Ferrite chokes one on each end the ghosting can be from mains cable as well if you move the cable about does it vary? Thats what the screening protects you against its magnetic reflections causing your problems the screening (and chokes) stop it getting in to the wires carrying the signal, it can be from many things even a faulty VGA cable have you tried another? Ahhh yes that is a very cheap VGA lead you definatly dont want to be using a cable like that for any run over 2 mtrs. Marc Projector Engineer

The diameter of the cable must be at least as think as your little finger 15mm NOT thinner. Marc Projector Engineer

Hi Steve your current brackets sound like they will be just fine but you may have to change the mounting screws for the projector please make sure you dont over tighten these as you can damage the projector. Marc Projector Engineer

It is down to the quality of the cable good leads are screened and then also the individual video and sync wires are screened again you would have no problem with a lead like this for up to 50 Mtrs make sure your lead had the wrap around ferrite core at each end within one inch of the VGA plug. Grab your fav CD pop down your local HiFi shop and try them you will be supprised how good some cheapy ones are and probably supprised at how muddy some expencive ones can be, in my humble opinion AKG are great value but can still be expencive. You listening experiance will vary with your type of music and of course your age (you lose top as you age). But as well stated by most audiologists be careful with headphones you can get huge volume levels in that small gap between your speaker and your ear easly reaching levels equivilent to a heavy rock band in to a 10k amp from your little MP3 player. Or you could buy Epson projectors remotes less than £10 and original. for other makes you can get self adhesive loops for attaching small chains etc they cant be removed with out wrecking the remote they are in most stationers catalogs. Marc Projector Engineer

Nice unit the Epson lot of calibration but solid unit, very soon to be superceeded by new model, Optoma ....er dont bother! I see far to many Optoma for repair almoust as many as i see DLP units Marc Projector Engineer

The hitachi UCF are very good machines, the only problem with UCF is you MUST have a completley flat board i have seen many boards with a curve in that will not setup with UCF projectors, but i must also say the Hitachi are as good as the Epson with the new setup on them and you can flex the image with "perfect image" in the menu to remove some of the problems with none flat boards. I assume it has taken a knock and broken the drive to the flap there are several things that could have broken, the cost of a fix to that would be in the region of £80 due to labour. Marc Projector Engineer

Your projector would have to be around 9000 lumins on a normal day and the screen would have to be shaded. Marc Projector Engineer

LEDs age same as anything else not as quick but they do get dimmer with age warrenty i belive is now down from 20 to 5 years, also they are not bulbless its just different way in which the light is created, and yes the lamp can be changed. Well reported on here. Marc Projector Engineer

As far as i know there are none in the south of England not for deep clean. From my last info from manufacturers there are only 4 aproved in the UK none in the south. Marc Projector Engineer

Dont get me wrong i think they are the way forward but 50,000 life ? with a projector the lamp you now get around 5,000 hrs then no light so new lamp, with a screen you get a dimming image i think the usable image will be around 7 to 8 years, even casio and their "claimed" life of at first i think it was 30,000 hrs is now down to around 5 years (both use LED) (although the casio has a composite source NOT lampless like many claim). But its not just the light, its like a TV many other things can go wrong and to think your getting a 50 year screen is a bit naughty, why would they sell you a 50 product what will they sell you next time, a few years ago ( i may have the name wrong but) Osram brought out a lamp that never wears out but of course would not sell it to the public or it would end the company, they survive by you replacing equipment same as anyone else. So i think if you buy them with a believable usable life of around 6 to 8 years you will then be able to work out realistic coatings to see if its worth it to you. Dont get me wrong i sell these screens and other much less expensive brands and i do promote them but with realistic expectations of their life, and its not the people quoting you who are wrong they are just reading spec. its the way it is interpreted using experience and knowledge of the components its built with.
